Backlash 2018 has come and gone and WWE’s first co-branded, non-big four PPV left many wanting. Regardless of how the show went a lot of things happened so there will be a lot of… well backlash. What does the May 7th edition of Raw have in store for us? Will it help set the road for Money in the Bank and in turn Summerslam down the line? Here are some of the things to expect and where to watch RAW this Monday.
Tonight Raw will be at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.
Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins defended his title against SmackDown Live’s A-lister, The Miz at Backlash last night. By defeating the blue brand’s man he keeps the storied title on Monday nights. Now that The Miz has gotten his rematch Rollins can turn his attention to Finn Balor. Balor showed Rollins that he can’t take his eyes off him and now he can give him his full attention. Will Balor come out fast and strong against The Architect, or will the Demon King bide his time?
The Women’s division on Raw will be on alert as Nia Jax successfully defended her title against Alexa Bliss at Backlash. There are reports that Bliss injured her shoulder in the bout so it looks like Jax will have to move into a new rivalry. Raw’s Women’s division is pretty stacked right now with the likes of Sasha Banks, Bayley, Natalya, Mickie James and Ronda Rousey just to name a few. Who will be the Irresistible Force’s next challenger?
Yesterday’s Tag Team clash between Braun Stroman and Bobby Lashley against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Stroman and Lashley were dominant together. Could they continue this into Raw’s Tag Team division, challenging the Deleter of Worlds for their Tag Team Titles? Stroman beat established duo, The Bar, with a 10-year-old kid at Wrestlemania 34, think of what he could do with Lashley. Also, where does the friendship between Owens and Zayn stand? The two seemed to turn on each other at Backlash, each throwing the other into the ring rather than face the power of Stroman. Can they get past this?
Roman Reigns made a statement last night beating big man Samoa Joe. Joe had spent a lot of time tearing into Reigns inability to defeat Brock Lesnar. By defeating his daunting critic does this earn Reign another shot at the Universal Title? The Big Dog will most likely have something to say about that tonight.
