Saturday Night Live returned in a big way on May 5 with a hilarious “Michael Cohen Wiretap Cold Open” which took aim at nearly everyone in the Donald Trump administration. The cold open also featured cameos from the real-life Stormy Daniels, Scarlett Johansson, Jimmy Fallon, and more. No one was safe.
The skit poked fun at recent reports that Trump lawyer Michael Cohen was wiretapped by the FBI and showed a chaotic conversation between Michael Cohen (Ben Stiller), (Alec Baldwin), Rudy Giuliani (Kate McKinnon), Melania Trump (Cecily Strong), Ivanka Trump (Scarlett Johansson) and Jared Kushner (Jimmy Fallon) and Stormy Daniels a they try to hush the hush money story.
Perhaps lost in the hilarity of the cold open was the fact that Kate McKinnon can play anyone — she’s previously portrayed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
You can check out the cold open below:
With the FBI listening in, Michael Cohen (Ben Stiller) fields calls from Donald Trump (Alec Baldwin), Rudy Giuliani (Kate McKinnon), Melania Trump (Cecily Strong), Ivanka Trump (Scarlett Johansson) and Jared Kushner (Jimmy Fallon) and Stormy Daniels.
Surprisingly, the president has yet to fire up his Twitter fingers to give a response.
On Saturday, May 12, Saturday Night Live will feature Amy Schumer as the host with musical guest Kacey Musgraves. On Saturday, May 19, Tina Fey returns to SNL as host while Nicki Minaj will take the stage to perform her new singles.
