Can you smell it? That smell is the first day of Spring.

Now, while anyone with their head properly screwed onto their body knows that Spring doesn’t actually start to April rolls around. In fact, New York City is supposed to get about a foot of snow tomorrow, meaning it’s just as much winter outside as it was a month ago.

However, there is something to be said about the day the calendar decides to tell you it’s Spring, as it means we are all one step closer to our ultimate goal: summer.

Anyway, to COED’s Quick Fix: Everything You Need To Know Today.

Pop Culture

– Apparently, Stewie from Family Guy doesn’t have a British accent. F*ck Family Guy — classic “you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain” scenario:

– Re-watched one of my all-time favorite movies last night, Sunshine. This one flew under the radar when it came out over a decade ago, but the director (Academy Award winner Danny Boyle) cast (Chris Evans, Cillian Murphy, Rose Byrne, Mark Stong, Benedict Wong) plot & visuals are all excellent:

Sports

– There’s another new football league coming, via ESPN:

Charlie Ebersol, who directed a documentary on the XFL that aired last year as part of ESPN’s 30 for 30 series, announced Tuesday that his league, the Alliance of American Football, plans to debut Feb. 9, 2019, the week after Super Bowl LIII. The season will run 10 weeks and will have 50-man teams.

To help him steer the league, Ebersol brought on former NFL general manager Bill Polian, currently an analyst for ESPN. The player side will be overseen by former Pro Bowl Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu, while the team side will be guided by former USC standout and executive J.K. McKay. Advisers to the league also will include former NFL players Hines Ward and Justin Tuck, as well as Dick Ebersol.
