Eiza González is a 28-year-old Mexican actress and singer that first gained popularity when she nabbed the lead role in the Mexican teen-oriented musical Lola, érase una vez. I think it’s safe to say that she has our attention now.
On March 4th, González absolutely killed it at the Oscars, not just stealing the show on the red carpet, but she also served as an Oscar presenter along with her Baby Driver co-star Ansel Elgort.
She got her start on Mexican telenovelas and also performed as a singer all throughout Mexico. Following her time on shows such as Lola, érase una vez, she would begin to transition to more film-oriented roles that would lead to her grabbing the attention of directors in the United States.
In 2014, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting in America full time. She would star in projects like Adrian Cervantes’ All Hail the Squash Blossom Queen. She would also star in Robert Rodriguez’s TV adaptation of From Dusk Till Dawn, briefly relocation to Austin, Texas to film the show.
Perhaps her real breakout role in the United States didn’t come until 2017 when she co-starred in Edgar Wright’s smash hit Baby Driver. She played Darling, a bank robber part of a crew put together by Kevin Spacey’s character and the wife of Jon Hamm’s character. She blew up after that and people began to ask “how has Eiza flown under the radar this long?”
Not only is González drop dead gorgeous, but she’s a pretty damn good actress as well. Oh, and did I mention she also sings? I mentioned that right? So, she’s an actress, singer, and model. She’s the ultimate triple threat that we’ve fallen madly in love with.
