In 1999, Jordan decided to make the switch from model to actor, briefly appearing in episodes of shows like Cosby and The Sopranos, both of which filmed in New York. His first principal film role was in 2001 when he appeared in Hardball with Keanu Reeves. In 2002, he appeared in HBO’s The Wire and joined the cast of All My Children the following year, until 2006. Towards the end of the decade, he also appeared in shows like Without a Trace, Cold Case, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.


2009-2012

In 2009, Jordan starred as quarterback Vince Howard in the NBC drama, Friday Night Lights, which was filmed in Austin. In 2010, he also appeared as the recurring character Alex in the NBC show, Parenthood. In 2012, he appeared in the films, Red Tails and Chronicle.


2013-Present

In 2013, Jordan earned acclaim playing real-life shooting victim, Oscar Grant, in Fruitvale Station. In 2015, his career appeared as Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, in Fantastic Four. While the film was panned and a financial failure, he rebounded by playing the titular character in Creed, a spin-off of the Rocky film franchise, the same year. In 2018, he later appeared as the villain, Erik Killmonger, in Black Panther.
