Giants vs. Raiders Breakdown
The Oakland Raiders
The Raiders are hoping to stay on the right track after a big divisional win last weekend against the Denver Broncos. A win this game would give the Raiders a chance to get to .500 on the season. Although Smith’s start has become the talk of the NFL, and not necessarily in a good way, the Raiders shouldn’t sleep on Smith. Against the Raiders, Smith has a decent set of numbers including a 2-1 record, four TD passes and three interceptions and a 69.5 completion percentage which is his best against any team he’s played more than once. On top of Smith’s career numbers against them, the Raiders will be short Michael Crabtree, who is serving a one game suspension, and Amari Cooper who is dealing with an ankle injury and a concussion.
The New York Giants
The Giants will be battling outraged fans this week with their decision to bench Manning. Although head coach Ben McAdoo stated that he was interested in looking into other quarterbacks next year, it is strange that they wouldn’t just let Manning finish the season, especially considering the year the team has had. The Giants have had a tough run and Manning hasn’t been playing his best, but he has also been playing behind a pretty rough offensive line and lost two key players early on in the season.
