Elisha Mahar, a 20-year-old New Hampshire substitute teacher, was arrested after police say she gave students a vaping device and invited them to smoke marijuana.
Mahar, 20, of Rochester, N.H., has been charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
School officials reported the allegations against Mahar to the school resource officer on October 13, which prompted an investigation by the school resource officer and the detective division of the Somersworth Police Department.
The investigation found that the alleged incidents happened Mahar was still employed as a substitute teacher.

Police arrested a former Somersworth Middle School substitute teacher Thursday alleging that she provided a Vape smoking device to a middle school student, and allegations that she invited other middle school students to smoke marijuana — all while she was still employed as a teacher.
Elisha Mahar, 20, of 37 Gooseberry Circle, Rochester, was charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Somersworth Police arrested Mahar at 2:15 p.m. on the Class A misdemeanors.
According to police, school officials reported the allegations against Mahar to the school resource officer on Oct. 13. The case was then investigated by the school resource officer and the detective division of the Somersworth Police Department. According to Interim Superintendent Connie Brown, the number one priority for the Somersworth School District is keeping our students safe.
“As the Superintendent of School, I will make sure we cooperate fully with the investigation being conducted by the Somersworth Police Department into the allegations that a former substitute teacher endangered the welfare of our students.”
She was released on $5,000 bail and is next scheduled to appear in court on December 26.
