David Cassidy of Partridge Family fame passed away today at the age of 67. He was 67 at the time of his death, Tuesday in a Florida hospital.
His publicist JoAnn Geffen confirmed his death, issued a statement on behalf of his family. “On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy. David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”
Cassidy had been hospitalized for several days as a result of organ failure. In March, performed at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York and announced that he has dementia. He played guitar at that event. “I want to focus on what I am, who I am and how I’ve been without any distractions,” he said. “I want to love. I want to enjoy life.”
He passed away on Tuesday as a result of organ failure.

David Cassidy was a singer, actor, songwriter, and guitarist. He was most famous for his role in the 1970’s musical sitcom The Patridge Family. During the show’s existence, The Patridge Family had released ten albums and five solo albums for Cassidy, with a majority of the records selling more than a million copies each.
Cassidy’s singing career continued after The Patridge Family ended. He also appeared on numerous TV shows, including Celebrity Apprentice, Kim Possible, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Popstar, and more.
