Maryland Teacher Arrested For Selling Drugs AT School

Monica Snee, a 51-year-old teacher in Maryland, was arrested by police after reportedly getting caught in possession of drugs and selling them on school property.

Snee, 51, who was teaching special education at Parkside High School, was arrested on Tuesday, November 14, after police found 100 capsules of heroin, hundreds of oxycodone pills, suboxone strips and $3,000 in her car.

She was charged with possession of heroin, distribution of heroin, and distribution of both heroin and prescription medications on school property.

The Principal of Parkside High reached out by phone to parents of students Tuesday night, according to the school system statement.

“Good evening Parkside High School parents and guardians. This is Principal Kim Pinhey calling to inform you that the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Monica Snee, a teacher at Parkside High School, on drug distribution charges. On the afternoon of Tuesday, November 14th, the administration received information from law enforcement which resulted in our immediate notification of district administration. Ms. Snee was placed on administrative leave effective immediately and is not teaching, pending the outcome of the judicial process as well as the school system’s administrative investigation.”

Her bond was set at $50,000.

This is the latest in teacher/student sex scandals this year. Tenessee teacher Janet Smothers was arrested. Former nutrition teacher LaToya Parker was also arrested for a relationship with a student.  Florida teacher Caroline Lawson was charged with sexual assault. 26-year-old Allyson Moran was also arrested. 23-year-old high school teacher Katherine Ross Ridenhour was also arrested for an inappropriate relationship.
