Lil Peep was an inspiring hip hop artist who passed away today at the age of 21. He rose to fame through YouTube and Soundcloud. His music covers various different themes, including suicide, witchcraft, drug use, and past relationships. Pitchfork magazine writer Steven J. Horowitz has described Peep as “the future of Emo.” Sadly, that future was snuffed out on Wednesday as a result of a suspected overdose.

The emo artist has more than 1.2 million followers on Instagram and 328k followers on Soundcloud. Three of his songs have already reached a combined 4 million viewers on YouTube (“White Wine”, “Benz Truck”, and “The Way I See Things”). Let’s see how much money Lil Peep has altogether…

Lil Peep Net Worth as of 2017: $100,000

At this moment, Lil Peep’s net worth stands at $100,000. His stock may rise tremendously even after his death depending upon the public’s interest in his work. He had only just released his first mixtape two years ago (Lil Peep Part One, 2015). He also dated the red-hot Bella Thorne, which is definitely worth something. Lil Peep may be gone, but his music lives on forever.

He was born Gustav Åhr on November 1, 1996, in Long Island. He was raised by his parents in Long Beach, New York. Soon after earning his high school diploma online, the future Lil Peep began making music and began uploading it to YouTube and Soundcloud.

In 2015, he released his first mixtape Lil Peep Part One, which received minimal success, reaching 4k views within the first week. That year, he released another mixtape, Live Forever as well as his first extended play Feelz.

By 2016, Lil Peep was taking off and getting noticed with his next two popular mixtapes: Crybaby and Hellboy.

Lil Peep attributes his success to his rap character. “It’s like professional wrestling—everyone has to be a character,” said Peep in an interview with Pitchfork. “If you’re not a fun enough character, then no one’s gonna fuck with you because you don’t have enough shit that’s different.”

Peep released his first and possibly final studio album Come Over When You’re Sober on August 11th, 2017. He was on tour promoting the album from August 2nd all the way up to the night of his death on November 15th.
