On tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live, Natalya will need to step up to “The Queen” Charlotte Flair before she’s allowed to face “The Goddess” Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series this Sunday. Natalya and Charlotte have clashed in the past. Their last encounter took place at October’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, which Charlotte won by DQ. But since titles don’t change hands during disqualification, Natalya was able to hold onto her championship…but for how long?
Natalya Neidhart will put her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line tonight against a 4-time WWE Raw Women’s Champion. Can Nattie vanquish The Queen? Or will she become just another notch on the Flair legacy?
Meet Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair is the daughter of legendary 16-time world champion “Nature Boy” Ric Flair. She’s already a 6-time champion in the WWE, as she’s a former WWE Divas Champion, NXT Women’s Champion, and 4-time WWE Raw Women’s Champion. Can she beat her father’s record? Considering she’s only been wrestling for five years, it wouldn’t be so unbelievable for her to one day surpass the Nature Boy…
Ms. Flair first arrived on Monday Night Raw back in July 2015, and quickly rose through the ranks. Within two months, she was already sitting atop the women’s division as the WWE Divas Champion after defeating the longest reigning champion Nikki Bella at Night of Champions 2015.
Flair’s most memorable feud in the WWE, involved her encounters with “The Boss” Sasha Banks. Both competitors traded championship wins. Together, they made history as the first women in WWE history to main event a pay-per-view and wrestle inside a Hell in a Cell.
But Flair has never won the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship? Will she add that title to her long list of accomplishments tonight on SmackDown Live? Or will Nattie knock “The Queen” down a peg or two?
It’s probably worth noting that tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live is set to take place at the Spectrum Center in Flair’s hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. That might just ensure a victory for Charlotte (in more ways than one).
Meet the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Natalya
Natalya is another star born into wrestling royalty. She’s the daughter of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and niece of Bret “Hitman” Hart. She’s a former WWE Divas Champion and the current WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion. Tonight, she’ll be in for the fight of her life as she battles a 6-time champion in the form of Charlotte Flair. Can Nattie take out The Queen? Let’s find out…
Ms. Neidhart has been wrestling a lot longer than Charlotte. She began her in-ring career in 2003, as part of Stampede Wrestling, which was owned by the Hart Family. She has also been in the WWE a lot longer than Charlotte, as Nattie made her WWE debut in April 2008 as a villainous character.
Nattie would bounce around alliances from Victoria to Beth Phoenix to managing The Hart Dynasty.
She won her very first championship in the WWE at the 2010 Survivor Series, defeating Michelle McCool and Layla in a two-on-one handicap match for the WWE Divas Champion. After losing the title at the 2011 Royal Rumble, Nattie went back down the card and didn’t win another championship for six years. Her drought finally ended when she defeated Naomi for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2017.
At Survivor Series, the champion from each brand’s women’s division will battle it out for brand supremacy. If Natalya can get past Charlotte, she’ll then go onto face Alexa Bliss this Sunday at Survivor Series.
Will Carmella cash in her Money In The Bank contract tonight?
This is always a possibility. No matter the outcome of tonight’s match, Carmella may run in the ring and pick up the pieces. After tonight’s battle between Flair and Natalya, Carmella can easily swoop in and take away the title in a short match. But will she do it? Only time will tell…
Alexa Bliss might interfere in tonight’s match
WWE Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss hinted at showing up for tonight’s show in North Carolina to watch the match between Charlotte and Natalya. Obviously, Bliss has a lot at stake in this match, as she faces the winner.
Will Bliss interfere or just watch from the sidelines? Will she even show up at all? The best way to find out is to watch tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live. Look below and find out what when, where, and how to watch tonight’s show…
