Louis C.K. is a highly successful stand-up comedian and TV actor, world famous for his stand-up specials and his FX comedy-drama series Louie. C.K. has received six primetime Emmy Awards throughout his career, as well as two Grammy Awards for Best Comedy Album. He was living high on the hog of superstardom until his movie premiere for I Love You Daddy was cancelled on Thursday for “unexpected circumstances.”

According to a source from The Hollywood Reporter, a story is about to break regarding Mr. C.K. in The New York Times, which is said to be “damaging” and “damning” to his (real-life) character and image. The report could potentially be regarding “sexual abuse allegations,” as actress Caroline Williams responded to a tweet regarding these allegations, writing, “Those will come out; unlike the jizz he used to leave on female comics clothes.”

The award-winning comedian and actor has pulled in a lot of bread during his over 30 year venture in comedy. His stand-up specials are that of legend, as his special Shameless was named number three on their “Divine Comedy: 25 Best Stand-Up Specials and Movies of All Time” list. In 2017, he was named the fourth best stand-up comedian of all time by Rolling Stone.

When Louis C.K. first started as a stand-up comedian in 1985, he failed so badly that he didn’t do comedy for two years. But he didn’t give up and eventually returned to stand-up, working his way to performing paid gigs, opening for talent like Jerry Seinfeld. He later worked as a writer for TV Funhouse and Late Night with Conan O’Brien from 1993 to 1994.

C.K. also created short films, such as Trash Day (1984), and Ice Cream (1993). In 1998, he wrote and directed a black-and-white independent film known as Tomorrow Night.

Before Louie on FX, Mr. C.K. starred and created a similar sitcom on HBO known as Lucky Louie, which only lasted for one season.

The comedian is very well-known for his stand-up specials. He was nominated for  a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy or Variety Special for his 2008 Showtime stand-up special Chewed Up. That year, he also appeared in three films: Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, Diminished Capacity, and Role Models.

In 2010, Louis C.K. struck gold with his Emmy-awarding winning series Louie, which has already lasted five seasons. That show earned C.K. an award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series at the 64th and 66th Primetime Emmy Awards.

In 2016, Louis C.K. starred in the animated film The Secret Life of Pets, which grossed over $875 million worldwide. On November 17, 2017, his next film I Love You, Daddy will hit theaters nationwide. C.K. is the direction, star, producer, and writer of the film. His New York premiere of the show was cancelled on Thursday, November 9, 2017, as a result of “unexpected circumstances.”
