Since Bandai Namco first unveiled the latest entry in the Dragon Ball game franchise at this year’s E3 convention, fans of the franchise and Gamers in general have been ravenous for the release date of Dragon Ball FighterZ. Well, Bandai Namco has finally answered that question and gave us a bit more info on the “CollectorZ” edition of the game.
Featuring the fighting style of the highly regarded Dragon Ball Z Budokai series, Dragon Ball FighterZ sets out to revitalize and redefine the Dragon Ball fighting games. Blending 2D environments and 3D character work, the game will feature giant fighting set pieces that look straight out the anime!

Dragon Ball FighterZ launches on January 26th, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC! Fans who are already ready for this game to launch can go place their pre-order for either the Standard Physical or “CollectorZ” editions! Those who pre-order either edition will get early access to the open beta set to happen later this year.
Pre-ordering the standard edition will come with just the game and 2 “early unlock” characters while the “CollectorZ” edition comes with a number of included goodies! Retailing at $140, the “CollectorZ” edition comes with a highly detailed 7-inch statue of series protagonist Goku, a copy of the game with an exclusive steelbook, and three exclusive art boards.

Dragon Ball FighterZ Gameplay Details:
After the past two Dragon Ball game release, both Dragon Ball Z: Xenoverse 1 & 2 (an action-MMO take on the series), fans were craving a full on fighting game in the same vein of the beloved Budokai series from the PlayStation 2 era of games. The game features a fast and fluid style of gameplay to match the frenzied style of action that the anime is so well known for.
Players will create teams of three (similar to the Marvel vs. Capcom series) to fight other teams in these high-octane battles to the death. Featuring a huge cast spanning the entirety of the Dragon Ball Z history will have players putting their dream battles to the test for weeks to come. These 3-on-3 matches will have each character fighting one-on-one to the death with many combos, super moves and finishing moves to master!
Fan favorites like Future Trunks, Android 17 & 18, Frieza, Vegeta, and Goku have already been announced for the game with more to come until the game’s release! The developer has plans to release extra characters and outfits through downloadable content. With all the content in this game, hopefully it will help revitalize the fighting genre of games!
Dragon Ball FighterZ is being developed for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC by Arc System Works. It’s being developed on the Unreal Engine 4.
