Alana Chasky, a 35-year-old teacher’s aid, has been arrested and charged with having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old special needs student.
According to reports Chasky, 35, was arrested on Monday by police in Brevard County, Florida.Chasky allegedly had multiple sexual encounters with the unidentified teen at her home. She now faces charges of lewd, lascivious battery on a victim between 12 and 16 years old, and distributing obscene material to a minor.
The former Riverdale Country Day School teacher’s aid sent explicit messages to the boy’s cellphone, which were discovered by his mother.
Police say Chasky will no longer be working at Riverdale Country Day School.

Chaskey’s arrest affidavit says the victim’s mother initially gave her son permission to visit the teacher’s aide who was “assisting with his behavioral problems”. The document claims the aide and the student later began a sexual relationship at her Palm Bay home. Police say the mother turned over inappropriate text messages sent between the teenager and the teacher’s aide during their seven-month relationship.
“The teacher resigned before we concluded our investigation” said Lt. Bandish. “And then she turned herself in and she’s up in Sharpes on a $60,000 bail.”
A judge said Chasky has no prior criminal history, but he still ordered her not to come in contact with the victim and not travel any closer than a mile from the school. Riverdale Country Day School is run by a private company, but has a contract with Brevard Public Schools for 87 students.
Police say that the teen’s mother warned Chasky to stay away from him in May 2017 because she suspected an inappropriate relationship.
According to News 6, police spoke to the victim in July in reference to him violating his home detention and walking in front of Chasky’s residence. The 14-year-old boy told police that he’d exposed himself to Chasky and the two had cuddled.
Chasky denied being involved in a relationship with the boy and there was not enough evidence to corroborate the relationship. Police to Chasky to refrain from contacting the boy.
Chasky was arrested Monday, October 16, on charges of lewd and lascivious battery on a victim between 12 and 16 years old and distributing obscene material to a minor.
