Two of the best teams in the west from last season face off this Tuesday night at 10:30 PM as the Houston Rockets take on the Golden State Warriors in Houston.
Having established themselves as “the team to beat” in the NBA, the Warriors do not need to change much after coming off a Finals victory just a season ago. It’s hard to pick a leader for a team that is so good but we’ll give it to last year’s finals MVP who averaged 25 points per game last season. With only 15 losses and a .817 win percentage, this Golden State team certainly deserved their championship and it would not surprise anyone if they do it again this year. As long as they could stay away from the injury bug, this team is “golden.”
Over in Houston, James Harden and the Rockets look to make the most out of their newly acquired point guard, Chris Paul. Over 61 games, Paul matched his career average of 18 points per game last season. This season he looks to combine his talents with Harden who exceeded his career high in the 2017 season averaging 29 points per game. With some help from the special rebounding ability of big man, Dwight Howard, the Rockets should not struggle too much in their season opener against the defending champs.
