Sandy Casey is one of 59 victims to be killed in the Las Vegas shooting massacre. On Sunday night, the Route 91 Harvest Festival was under siege during the deadliest mass shooting in United States history.
Casey is a 35-year-old woman from Redondo Beach, California. According to The Daily Beast, she was a special education teacher working in Southern California.
The Daily Beast wrote that Casey’s partner, Christopher Willemse, posted this message about her death: “The love and support that she and I have received during these trying times just shows how important this wonderful woman truly was. She lived life to the fullest and made me the happiest man in the world. I’m so grateful for the kind words and gestures, it means the world to me, especially for her.”
The school where she once worked sent out a press release on the death of one of their teachers during the now-infamous Las Vegas shooting.
“… we have received information that one of our MBMS Special Education teachers, Sandy Casey (formerly Sandy McDermott), was fatally wounded. This is unbelievably sad and tragic,” Superintendent Mike Matthews wrote, according to The Daily Breeze.
