Whoever was running the Call Of Duty franchise for the last 2 or 3 years should be fired, because the fact that it took them THIS long to get back to their bread and butter.
From personal experience, talk to anyone over the age of 21, and they’ll tell you they stopped playing COD years ago. Why? The jetpacks — the goddamn jetpacks. They took away from what made the game fun and added unnecessary complications.
But then in 2016, a funny thing happened: the Battlefield franchise went back to old-school warfare with the epic Battlefield 1, while the Call Of Duty franchise themselves re-released the classic original Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare. Now here we are, on the verge of the first World War II-based COD game in maybe over a decade.
And boy does it look like it was worth the wait.
