Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and people of Barcelona at this time. As you might know, on Thursday afternoon a van allegedly driven by Driss Oukabir jumped a curb and struck pedestrians on the sidewalk in the Las Ramblas district. Driss then abandoned the vehicle and took off on foot.
At least 13 people are dead because of the attack and more than 50 people are injured.

You may have friends or family in Spain right now, and you might also know that the Clemson, Tulane, Oregon State and Arizona men’s basketball teams are touring Barcelona for the preseason. It appears that all the teams are safe and unharmed, although Oregon State was alarmingly close to the attack when it happened.
Oregon State
Here’s Oregon State head coach, Wayne Tinkle, describing the near-miss.
The Beavers were scheduled to remain in Spain until August 25th, although that timeline is now under review.
Clemson University
The Clemson’s Men’s Basketball Team was scheduled to play against the Barcelona All-Stars tonight. That game has been cancelled. The Clemson Men’s Team is safe and sound, and will return to South Carolina tomorrow morning.
Tulane University
Troy Dannen, the Athletic Director for the Tulane Green Wave, tweeted out that the Men’s Basketball Team is safe and sound. The Green Wave are on a ten-day trip with Head Coach Mike Dunleavy, Sr to play against some Spanish teams.
University of Arizona
The men’s basketball team Twitter account tweeted out just recently that the team is safe and accounted for.
