Look, I understand that not every American is a cartographer in their spare time, but Christ, you mean to tell me there are people out there who actually don’t know where the Koreas are? It’s because of people like this that our country finds itself in our current situation.
The reason Kimmel sent his team to Hollywood Boulevard is because according to a new poll (which was taken before President Trump’s “Fire and Fury” comments) 75% of Americans believe that North Korea’s nuclear program is a ‘critical threat’ to the U.S. This stat made Kimmel curious how many Americans even know where North Korea.
The results are less than reassuring, to say the least.
To the surprise of essentially no one, it turns out the average American (or the average American you can find strolling down Hollywood Boulevard, that is) has absolutely no clue where North Korea is. Despite the Trump tweets and the nuke threats and the constant cable news coverage, there are actually people walking around this country there who can’t put their finger on the DPRK.
My god what a time it is to be alive. For now.
