A Texas man’s wedding got cancelled, so he allegedly went buck wild and set eight cars on fire. Don’t mess with Texas or you might get your car burnt to the ground. Jimmy Williams, 35, is the prime suspect linked to the torching of eight cars on the morning of July 9th, only one day after his wedding was suppose to happen. Instead of a wedding, more than a handful of cars in Plattsburgh, upstate New York, went up in smoke.
After the incident, Williams left Plattsburgh and returned to his hometown of Kingwood Texas, where he was apprehended by authorities. He has since been extradited back to New York for trial, NBC 5 reported.
In March 2015, Williams announced his engagement to a woman named Kimberly Fulton on his Facebook account. But before they could get hitched on July 8th, marriage plans fell through. Williams allegedly responded with an alcohol-induced arson mission, setting eight vehicles ablaze along a mile of road.
Prior to the crime, Williams was partying at Mayor’s Cup regatta, a long-standing boat race in the city. He “was downtown partaking in all the Mayor’s Cup events,’ before the fires reports Lt. Scott Beebie of the Plattsburgh PD said. “We do believe alcohol was a factor.”
At around 3 A.M., that night (July 9th), a fire was reported, according to the North Country Public Radio. The second fire report happened an hour later, while the third blaze was reported at 7:40 A.M.
Between Miller Street and Seth Square, eight cars were set ablaze. Two cars were reportedly burnt beyond repair, while the others vehicles suffered lesser damages.
Lt. Scott Beebie said, ‘He did live in Seth Square, so on [his] way home [he] allegedly took his anger out on the cars just before he reached his residence.”
Police searched through 35 hours of security footage before they narrowed down Jimmy Williams as their suspect.

The fires occurred sporadically over a one mile radius from Miller Street to Seth Square.
