Chloe Bennet is an American actress and singer best known for her role as Daisy Johnson (formerly known as Skye) in the ABC series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. The show is about to enter its fifth season on air.
Bennet was born in Chicago. Her father is Han Chinese and her mother is Caucasian-American. When she was 15-years-old, Bennet moved to China to pursue a singing career under her birth name Chloe Wang. While in China, Bennet lived with her paternal grandmother in Shanghai and studied Mandarin. She then moved to Los Angeles and began her acting career.
Her first mainstream role came as a recurring supporting character in the ABC drama Nashville. This helped up her profile with the network executives who cast her as the lead in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in December 2012. Given the massive success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this was seen as a huge opportunity as Marvel made its first foray into television. With a fifth season on the horizon, things are clearly going pretty well for Bennet.
Earlier this year, she was cast in MGM’s remake of the 1983 Martha Coolidge musical film Valley Girl as the “Queen Bee” Karen.
Recently, the newly-single Bennet was seen kissing internet personality Logan Paul.
