Rex Ryan is the NFL’s Donald Trump.

Rex is a boisterous loudmouth who became far more famous than he deserved mostly because he was based in New York, just like Trump. Both claim to be fully self-made but actually had a father who paved the way for their success. And when us New Yorkers realized they were both way too volatile to trust, Trump and Ryan both became the saviors for disgruntled blue-collar populations that are becoming increasingly desperate to reclaim their former moderate success. And it seems like both Rex and Donald are a pretty good bet to finally be out of our lives after election day.

So when the Buffalo News reported that fired Bills offensive coordinator was Greg Roman “was not known to have been the biggest Ryan fan,” it seemed plausible.  The report also states that Roman privately told at least one person after last season that he thought Ryan was a “buffoon” and “being affiliated with him wasn’t going to be good for his career,” which also appeared reasonable.

But today in an exclusive interview with Sporting News, Roman refuted the report.

“I have nothing but respect for coach Ryan and I thought we had a great working relationship,” Roman said Sunday afternoon in a telephone interview. “We met and he informed me of his decision. I thought it was handled very professionally. We then discussed how we could best make this work for everybody moving forward.”

Whether with Ryan or Trump, it’s always the underlings who are sent packing as a result of their ineptitude. But perhaps in this case it was the case that the Buffalo News either misreported or made that report with an agenda.

It really is no surprise that Rex Ryan was the one to introduce Trump in Buffalo, or that the notoriously delusional candidate wrongfully said that Ryan won two AFC championships as coach of the Jets.

Fear The Walking Dead continues its second season tonight with episode 10. Season 2, episode 12, is titled “Pillar Of Salt.” Fear the Walking Dead (FTWD) is an American post-apocalyptic horror drama television series created by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. FTWD premiered on AMC on August 23, 2015, and is the companion series and prequel to The Walking Dead, which is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

The first season, consisting of six episodes, aired in 2015. Its second season, of 15 episodes, premiered on April 10, 2016. The series is initially set in Los Angeles, California. 5.) Kelechi Iheanacho- Manchester City

Manchester City can do no wrong. A 4-0 dismantling of Bournemouth showcased the Pep Guardiola-led club’s high-octane attack, and the stellar buildup for this Kelechi Iheancho’s goal is the epitome of City’s impressive start to the season.

4.) Seamus Coleman- Everton

It’s obviously still very early in the season, but so far Everton looked like a contender for the top 4 under new boss Ronald Koeman. Everton sit alone in second place with 13 points, and this sweet Seamus Coleman goal helped the Toffees take the lead for good in their clinical 3-1 win  against Middlesbrough at Goodison Park on Saturday.

3.) Andros Townsend- Crystal Palace

This blissful Andos Townsend goal was the cherry on top fourth goal of Crystal Palace’s 4-1 demolition of Stoke City. Truly an afternoon to cherish in south London for Alan Pardew’s men.

2.) Granit Xhaka- Arsenal

Arsenal had already wrapped up a victory against Hull City when Granit Xhaka added this exclamation point. The 23-year-old Swiss had nothing to lose when he fired this absolute lightning bolt in stoppage time of Arsenal’s 4-1 blitz.

Another week is history in the English Premier League and there was certainly the usual helping of narrative that we’ve come to expect from the most exciting league in the world. Not a single match from this weekend ended level.

While Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City remained perfect on the season in the week after the Manchester Derby,  Jose Mourihno’s Manchester United slipped up while visiting Watford.  Whereas City cruised to a 4-0 win, United fell 3-1.

United’s setback allowed Everton to move into second place on 13 points after their 3-1 victory against Middlesbrough. Everton’s talented roster is finally playing up to its potential under new manager Ronald Koeman after consecutive disappointing 11th place finishes under Roberto Martinez.

On the opposite end of the table, Stoke City and Sunderland sit in 20th and 19th place, respectively, with just one point apiece in their first five matches.

The 68th Emmy awards were tonight, honoring the best in television.  It was a fantastic night for HBO, with Game of Thrones and Veep repeating as the best drama and comedy, respectively. Game of Thrones three Emmys moves its total to 38 Emmys ever, surpassing Frasier for the most ever. When it comes to elite television programming, HBO certainly has the throne.

A nice surprise from the award show was seeing Rami Malek, the star of USA’s Mr. Robot who is pictured above, take home the Emmy for best lead actor in a drama.

The AFC North is likely going to come down to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals. The two teams will resume their divisional battle on Sunday afternoon with each team coming off of an opening week win. The winner will have a one-game lead in the standings but in theory a two-game lead because they will hold the tiebreaker. Which team’s passing attack will be the one that comes out on top in this game. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Bengals pulled off a 23-22 win on the road against the New York Jets last week on a late-moment Mike Nugent field goal. Andy Dalton threw for 366 yards and a touchdown last week in that week and found A.J. Green early and often for 12 receptions and 180 touchdowns for the big wideout. This week could see much of the same from the Dalton and Green connection against a Pittsburgh secondary that gave up more than 300 yards through the air on Monday night. This has the potential to be a big shootout on the scoreboard.

The Steelers pounded the Washington Redskins 38-16 on Monday night so it will be a short week for them getting ready for this divisional game. Ben Roethlisberger threw three touchdown passes and added 300 yards through the air. Antonio Brown had two touchdown receptions on eight catches for 126 yards while DeAngelo Williams rushed for two touchdowns of his own and 143 yards on the ground. It is a very balanced Pittsburgh attack that is very hard to stop. When Brown and Roethlisberger are on the same page, watch out. The first team to 35 should be the winner in this one.

Senior law enforcement officials and a New York Police Department spokesperson have told multiple news sources that they are looking for Ahmad Khan Rahami, a 28-year-old male from Elizabeth, N.J., for his connection to the bombings that have occurred in New York and New Jersey over the last three days.

According to the Daily Mail:

A bomb was detonated by a police robot at a New Jersey station on Sunday night as the FBI conducts a manhunt for a suspected terrorist cell behind the Manhattan bomb blast on Saturday. Footage from the scene showed the robot accidentally cut the wrong wire on one of five IEDs dumped in a trashcan at the train station in Elizabeth, New Jersey late on Sunday night, resulting in a huge explosion.

Hours earlier, the FBI stopped an SUV with five armed men inside on New York’s Verrazano bridge in connection with Saturday’s Manhattan bomb. They are currently questioning those men, who were believed to be on their way to the airport when they were stopped, but say there could be more suspects at large and a terror cell may exist in the area. Officials have suggested that all or most of the arrested men are from the same family.

Rahami, a naturalized citizen from Afghanistan, should be considered armed and dangerous.

Mayor Bill de Blasio said: “We need to get this guy in right away. My experience is one the FBI zeroes in on someone, they will get them.”

Police are investigating a suspicious package at Douglass Parking Deck, which is on the Cook/Douglass area of Rutgers’ New Brunswick campus. Rutgers University urged people to avoid a New Brunswick parking garage as police investigated a suspicious package. Police responded to Douglass Parking Deck off George Street in New Brunswick around 8:00 A.M. No injuries have been reported thus far.

According to NJ.com, a University spokesman said Monday morning at about 9:00 A.M. that authorities were on scene. “The Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) has closed-off the area around the Douglass Parking Deck and is working to determine whether the package presents a danger,” E.J. Miranda said.

Seahawks fans must be pretty upset about losing to the Los Angeles Rams, who just one week earlier took part in the worst NFL game I’ve ever seen. You wouldn’t even need to look at the score to get the pulse of the Seahawks fans, you’d just need to watch this video of a Los Angeles Rams fan in a porta potty getting pushed over.

Watchers on the Wall has learned that GoT filming this week centered around Yara and Theon Greyjoy engaging in battle at sea. It appears that their uncle Euron is catching up to the siblings and will capture one of them.

It looks like a big year is in the works for Euron- we hear that he and Queen Cersei are teaming up in season 7. We’ve also heard that Euron will take out at least one of the Sand Snakes.

It makes sense that Euron would turn to Cersei for an alliance, since Daenerys is no longer in Meereen and probably not interested in his cock-and-quickly-built-ships marriage proposal.

Three words people: Water. F*cking. Battle. I wanna see some Pirates of the Caribbean type aquatic warfare. I wanna see water engulfed in flames. But mainly, I want to see Yara and Daenerys get married.

NBA All-Star Steph Curry and his wife, Ayesha, showed up to the Verizon IndyCar Series GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma this past weekend to take in some championship racing of their own. The NBA Point God served as Ayesha’s plus-one, because this time the NBA wife and mother served as the grand marshall for the Grand Prix. It was her job to start the race. But before she got the party started, she jumped into the Honda Fastest Seat in Sports.

“It was thrilling, I had such a great time,”Ayesha Curry said. “It was crazy! It was so much fun. Right when I thought I was going to lose my life, that was the best part… I’m just joking. A nice first race experience, that’s for sure.”

Monday, there was an active shooter reported in Linden, New Jersey, which is not far from where the planted bombs were found in Elizabeth.  The active shooter was near the area of 500 East Elizabeth Ave. Reports stated one officer took a bullet to his vest. The man in custody is Chelsea bombing suspect Ahmad Rahami.

Rahami, 28, was taken into custody Monday morning after being found sleeping in front of a bar on Elizabeth Avenue in Linden, New Jersey. Before he was arrested, Rahami engaged in a shootout with police, injuring one officer. Rahami himself was shot in the shoulder, and was taken to an ambulance.

According to Daily Mail, in the past Rahami had sued his local police for discrimination. The 2011 lawsuit claimed that police tried to shut down their chicken business early every night and that local residents racially abused them because of their Middle Eastern heritage.

I want to know what events led to this situation. Well, let’s start with the facts. First of all, he’s on top of a car. Not sure if they ventured up there together, or if he was already there and she joined him, but that’s where he is. Second, the girl is pretty cute. Wasted, but she ain’t bad. Not sure what she was thinking though. She should have known someone would probably tape this, and that it would probably go viral. Her face is realllly in it too. Like, if you know this girl, you will recognize this girl immediately. Not exactly the best look you want to have on campus. Next think you know people will start referring to her as “the Dad F*cker.”

Good for both of them really. No sense of shame from either of them. Can’t say I’d ever act this way but I give credit to those who do.

Anyway, Matt LeBlanc was being interviewed on the Emmy Awards red carpet (because apparently he’s still famous) when the discussion about Game Of Thrones had come up. “I saw the first season and then I kind of fell out of touch with it. And I guess that’s when she started getting naked, so I need to catch up.”

In LeBlanc’s defense, people are pointing to this interview on the Graham Norton Show to prove that he and Clarke have a prior relationship, and that context is key when considering his remarks:

Plus, like, let’s be somewhat factual at this point. Emilia Clarke is very attractive. Emilia Clarke stars in Game Of Thrones. Emilia Clarke is frequently naked while starring on Game Of Thrones. That is something men think about, and want to see. Anyone who says they don’t is a liar.

With all that said though, LeBlanc, just cause everyone is thinking it, doesn’t mean you should say it out loud.

Prince died all the way back in April, but that didn’t stop his hometown team from paying their respects with a beautiful tribute during halftime of the the Vikings first home game of the season.

The Minnesota Vikings opened their new home, the $1 billion US Bank Stadium, over the weekend with a thrilling victory against divisional rivals Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The victory made the Sam Bradford-led Vikings one of the eight 2-0 NFL teams. Despite all the memorable plays from the game -including Adrian Peterson suffering a potentially serious knee injury- the most memorable moment of the night may have come at halftime.

In honor of music legend Prince, who was born in Minneapolis and supported the Vikings, the team draped the entire stadium in purple lighting for a halftime performance by the Minnesota Orchestra and gospel group The Steeles. Together, they performed Prince’s hit song “Purple Rain” while Vikings and Packers fans lit up the stadium with their cell phones.

The lone Monday night game in Week 2 features two teams with different expectations as the Philadelphia Eagles play the Chicago Bears. Philadelphia is starting No. 2 overall draft pick Carson Wentz while Chicago is hoping for a big season out of Jay Cutler. The two teams started very differently last week with the Eagles winning and the Bears losing on the road. The battle of the quarterbacks will be the key to this primetime game. Here is a look at the matchup.

The Eagles beat the Cleveland Browns 29-10 as Wentz threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Matthews was targeted 14 times and had seven catches for 114 yards and a touchdown and with a rookie quarterback, it is important to note that connection. Ryan Mathews rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Last week’s defensive showing had to make fans in Philly happy but Cutler is not Robert Griffin III. The defense will need to step up on the road if the Eagles want to score 2-0 while hoping Wentz continues to improve along the way.

The Bears lost 23-14 against the Houston Texans. Cutler passed for 216 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Alshon Jeffery was his normal dominating self with four catches for 105 yards while Jeremy Langford’s first start as the lead running back led to a touchdown and 57 yards on the ground. The defense couldn’t slow down the Texans enough for Cutler to push through for the win. Wentz will be a tough test for the Chicago defense. Cutler needs to play better as well if the Bears went to avoid going to 0-2 especially in a very tough NFC North.
