Kim Kardashian has been posting Snapchat videos of the conversation that her husband Kanye West had with Taylor Swift, getting the pop star’s permission to use the controversial lyrics to the song “Famous.” For those of you who didn’t get a chance to listen to The Life of Pablo, here are the lyrics in question:

“For all my south side ni**as that know me best/
I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/
Cause I made that b*tch famous/

Anyways, so right after the song came out, Taylor Swift made a speech at the Grammys about how people will always try and take something from you that you’ve earned:

“I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.”

Obviously, people immediately started to assume that she was referring to Kanye West. Which, in turn, started all the Swifties sending Kanye death threats etc.

But here’s the catch: Kanye asked her permission first, which she granted, and Kim Kardashian recorded the whole conversation. Hell, they even had Rick Rubin in the background listening to the whole thing–vetting it like Switzerland.

Taylor Swift’s Response

And now of course, Taylor Swift has responded on Twitter. She’s claiming that although she did give him permission to say “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex,” she never would have allowed him to call her “that b*tch.”

Which, truthfully, is not included in the video.

The internet can be a dark and cruel place at times. Actually, at most times. However, there are those times where the randomness of the internet creates something bizarrely beautiful. This is one of those times.

As I was getting my act together this morning before work, my roommate  (and resident conspiracy theorist) asked me if I had seen Hillary Clinton’s Instagram. I had told him that I had not, and that I didn’t even know she had one. I should have known though, I mean, I do work in media, lol. But anyway, he told me to check out it, so that’s exactly what I did.

What I found was not only strange, but damn near inexplicable. Literally, as thorough Google searches have yielded little to no answers. For some odd, unknown reason, the masses are commenting the phrase “Spicy Boi” on Hillary Clinton’s Instagram. What is “Spicy Boi” anyway? Well, some Twitter users have reached out to us saying that it had something to do with Hillary mentioning Pokemon Go in a recent speech, while a Google search yields a Change.org petition requesting that fire ants have their names changed to “spicy boys”. There is a lot of internet hi-jinx going on here, as you can tell.

The “Spicy Boi” movement is spreading, and fast. Literally every comment on every photo says “spicy boi”, and it’s not just on her recent photos. I wondered to what extent this madness continued, so I scrolled all the way back to her first Instagram post from a little over 13 months ago. And what did I find? That’s right, Spicy Boiiiiiiii:

What Is Spicy Boi Hillary Clinton?

So, where did this all start? It all started Saturday night when a 4chan user encouraged people to go to Clinton’s Instagram account and write “Spicy Boy”. “Spicy Boy” is a reference to a Change.org petition asking Michelle Obama, Barack Obama and Mark Zuckerberg to change the name of fire ants to spicy boys. The petition went viral on social media and received coverage from various media outlets such as  The Huffington Post and The Independent.

Beyond that, the beginning of any internet investigation obviously starts with a Google search. The only result worth mentioning is a Reddit thread that on Sunday, July 17, stated that everyone should start commenting “spicy boi” on her Instagram. There are few comments, and even less context. The only sort of explanation given is a link to this photo detailing the “Spicy Boi” movement, from a iFunny.co user:

The Twitter account @iFunny has about 38K followers, so it’s hard to imagine they had enough social media influence themselves. On the bottom left of the picture, appear to be other accounts participating in the “raid” however I was unable to find any of them on social media. Apparently, all of those are big users on the meme app iFunny.co, and helped spread word about the raid. We reached out to iFunny Chef, who pointed us to the initial announcement of the raid.

All those accounts in the bottom left of the photos are accounts on a massive application called “iFunny”. The “ironic memes” community on the app decided to spam Hillary’s Instagram, as well as create the aforementioned fire ants petition. (The iFunny app is available on iTunes and Google Play, by the way).  The Spicy Boi raid was led by the iFunny account EpilepsyWarning. EpilepsyWarning first started spicy boi by renaming the “fire ant” on Wikipedia to “Spicy Boi”, which in turn led to his followers to renaming other words on Wikipedia to “Spicy Boi”, until Wikipedia banned the word “Spicy Boi” all together.

Then, Southern Fraternity blog Old Row (with a Twitter following of 177k, and another 304k on Instagram) got in on the fun. With the audience they probably have (Trump supporters), it’s easy to imagine many of the comments coming from their followers. Once Old Row got a scent of it, the big guns were brought, and the flood gates opened.

However, Old Row were not the first ones on the internet to post about it. There were massive organizing threads on both 4chan and the Reddit thread /r/the_donald. So, in conclusion, it appears that credit must go to multiple sources. While Old Row has awesomely created more of the traffic, hype, and buzz, iFunny, 4chan, and Reddit seem to be the originators, as they posted about the raid hours before Old Row started to Tweet about it.

Well done to everyone who made this happen. Old Row, Reddit, 4chan, iFunny, Twitter, COED, and many other media sources came together for this truly hilarious prank. Thank you all for being true Americans. While I don’t fully understand the joke, I enjoy and appreciate it all the same. As I’m sure everyone else does. Maybe even Spicy Boi herself.

Gavin Long, a man who wrote under the pen name of Cosmo Setepenra, has been identified as the man who killed three cops in Baton Rouge, LA before he was shot and killed by police.

Long was a retired Marine, honorably discharged in 2010, who had begun sharing conspiracy theories and thoughts online and in some of his self-published books. A short while ago, he posted on Twitter and proclaimed that he had just returned from a two-year trip to Africa. It was after that he began to claim that he belonged to the Washitaw Nation, a group of African Americans who claimed they were a Native American tribe that wasn’t part of the United States of America.

He’s been talking about this for a while, and being the man of integrity he is, he delivered. In a video posted to Twitter, a dressed-up Colbert manages to grab the microphone and mock Donald Trump and his running-mate Mike Pence before security gets to him. The Late Show host can be seen — dressed as fictional TV host Caesar Flickman from The Hunger Games — standing at the podium at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, wearing a blue wig, slamming a gavel.

“I know I’m not supposed to be up here but neither is Donald Trump,” he yelled.

Colbert is just the best.

We finally know more about the Xbox One S unit coming out this summer, including a release date, the price, and the specifics about the console.

In addition to being the most compact Xbox yet (40% smaller than the first Xbox One), Xbox One S is the first and only console that allows you to watch Blu-ray movies and stream video in stunning 4K Ultra HD and High Dynamic Range (HDR). The Xbox One S also offers HDR support for video and gaming so your games look crisper and even better than before. The console also ships with the new Xbox Wireless Controller with enhanced comfort and feel featuring textured grip, improved range and Bluetooth technology.

What’s New?

First of all, the new Xbox One S is white–not black. Second, apparently the Xbox One S is going to be able to stand vertically, something the first one couldn’t. Third, it’s 40% smaller than the previous version of the Xbox One.

There’s a ton of different ways to follow along with the convention, but C-SPAN is your best bet. From 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., C-SPAN will have live coverage of the convention.

So this is pretty wild, eh? There are few things I’m ready to die for, let alone my job, but apparently not this guy. No, no, no, this unassuming 7/11 clerk apparently has gargantuan balls of steel, because he is literally forcing the potential thief to point the shotgun right as his chest, just to protect a 7/11 cash register. According to Fox News:

“A Maryland convenience store clerk is being hailed a hero after he was caught on camera disarming a would-be robber who pointed a shotgun at his face. In the footage, the clerk at a 7-Eleven in Frederick never flinches as he grabs the barrel of the gun and wrestles it out of the suspect’s hand.

Police obtained information the next day that led them to arrest 18-year-old Ryan Wages and charge him with the robbery attempt, Fox 5 DC reported Saturday. The video was posted on YouTube by the Frederick News Post, which reported that it was recorded at 4 a.m. July 12.

Alise Post is a 25-year-old U.S. Olympic BMX cyclist from St. Cloud, Minnesota. She won four straight USA Cycling National Championships from 2011-2014, and she is currently third in the Union Cycliste Internationale Women’s Elite rankings. Alise will have revenge on her mind in Rio after a rough performance at the 2012 Olympics. She had a nasty crash in the semifinals, making her unable to finish the race and qualify for the finals.

Get to know the name Felicity Jones, because she is about to become one of the biggest actresses in the world. The 32 year old British actress only made her major motion picture debut 8 years ago, but ever since then, she’s been on a steady ascension to stardom.

Starting with her role as Felicia Hardy, AKA The Black Cat, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Jones has been grabbing bigger and bigger roles ever since. In 2014, she starred in the Theory of Everything as Jane Wilde Hawking, and received widespread praise for her performance, including an Academy Award nomination. In 2015, she starred in True Story alongside James Franco and Jonah Hill.

Now, in 2016, she has 4 (!!!) movies coming out, one of which is the starring role in the upcoming epic Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. She’ll also be starring alongside American icon Tom Hanks in Inferno, the latest movie in The DaVinci Code film series.

Jason Williams–aka White Chocolate–is probably one of the most exciting and entertaining basketball players to watch in the history of the sport. So if you’re a fan of the man who invented the elbow pass, today is a day to rejoice because some nut case dedicated super fan literally just uploaded EIGHT HOURS of Jason Williams highlights.

Redditor /u/elbowpass announced that he had finally finished his piece de resistance today, which honestly had a couple of people shocked and concerned that someone would spend so much time doing something like that. Here’s his response.

xXx might have been one of the worst awesome movies ever made, so when we learned that Vin Diesel had posted a teaser trailer for xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, we had to watch it.

According to a live stream that Vin Diesel posted on Facebook, the first official trailer will be attached to Star Trek Beyond.

According to BBC, more than 20 people in Germany have been injured after a man with an axe went on the rampage on a train. Police, along with a helicopter, are on the scene in Heidingsfeld, a part of the city of Wurzburg in southern Germany. Local media tweeted that 21 people had been injured, and that the suspect appeared to be shot. Of those 21, it is being reported that 4 are critically injured.

The train line between Wurzburg-Heidingsfeld and Ochsenfurt is now closed closed. So far, there have been no reported fatalities, however, German news agency DPA reported that the police said some of the victims’ injuries were life-threatening.

Update – 5:50 PM EST: Most of the “injured” are being treated for shock.

Update – 5:25 PM EST: According to Sky News, the attacker was shot dead by police as he tried to flee the scene, a police spokesman said.

According to multiple reports, a man wielding an axe has injured up to 21 people who were on a Wurzburg-Heidingsfeld train. The Wall Street Journal’s Anton Troianovski reports that most of those “injured” are being treated for shock.

A couple days ago two officers found teen, Fred Barley, sleeping in a tent outside of a local college. After speaking with him, the two officers learned that Barley had biked six hours in order to register for classes at Gordon State College. He made the trip on a bike he borrowed from his little brother, while carrying two giant duffel bags and a couple gallons of water.
