There really is nothing quite like a good jump scare, a fact repeatedly proved by both the comedy and horror genres.

Whether it be a running gag in a television show, a leap-out-of-your-seat moment in a scary movie, or a daughter scaring the crap out of her father for a week straight, the jump scare will always be a source of endless entertainment.

In the latest example of that endless entertainment, an unidentified young woman decided to follow around her profane hilariously father with a confetti cannon, making him poop his pants a little every time he turned a corner in his own home.

While the scares themselves are hilarious in their own right, the true source of comedy comes from the personality of Dad, who can apparently curse a sailor under the table.

The FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball has been going on for at least two years. Early Friday morning, a Yahoo Sports report released some of the most specific and damaging details so far in the case.

What Happened?

Everything started to unravel once the investigation honed in on the prominent former NBA agent Andy Miller, his former associate Christian Dawkins and his agency, ASM Sports. The FBI obtained expenditures from Miller’s agency, which include expense reports and balance sheets that list cash advances, as well as entertainment and travel expenses for high school and college prospects and their families.

The details of the years-long investigation included hundreds of pages that monitored multiple targets and intercepted more than 4,000 calls across 330 days. This could all result in NCAA rules violations – both current and past – for at least 20 Division I basketball programs and more than 25 players.

Most Notable Teams And Players Involved

Schools identified by Yahoo! as having players who possibly violated NCAA rules include Duke, North Carolina, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan State, LSU, Maryland, South Carolina, Southern California, Louisville, Utah, Xavier, Wichita State, Clemson, Alabama, and Kansas. At least 25 players are linked to impermissible benefits, including Michigan State’s Miles Bridges, Alabama’s Collin Sexton and Duke’s Wendell Carter.

At least six players were identified in the documents as receiving payments exceeding $10,000. They include Dallas Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith Jr., who received $73,500 in loans from ASM before he played for NC State; Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Isaiah Whitehead, who received more than $37,000 around the time he was a freshman at Seton Hall; and 2017 No. 1 NBA draft pick Markelle Fultz, who received $10,000.

Last week, a federal judge in New York declined to dismiss criminal indictments against Adidas executives James Gatto and Merl Code, as well as Christian Dawkins, a runner who worked for Miller’s ASM Sports. The men are among 10 people who were charged with wire fraud in September after the government accused them of funneling money from Adidas to the families of high-profile recruits. Their trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 1.

Also last week, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New York dropped federal charges against Jonathan Brad Augustine, a former AAU director in Orlando, Florida, who had been accused of conspiring with the others to persuade two high school players to sign with Louisville and one with Miami.

In 2015, Rubio announced that he would campaign for the 2016 presidential election, eventually suspending his campaign. In mid-2016, Rubio he successfully ran for reelection to his Senate seat, after winning the Republican primary. By early 2017, Rubio announced plans to live as a “private citizen,” leading to speculation of him ending his political career.

Roberto Luongo, the now 38-year-old goalie for the Florida Panthers, gave a powerful speech at last night’s Panthers’ game, the team’s first game at home since the deadly Parkland shooting that left 17 dead.

The Florida Panthers, who play their games in Sunrise, Florida, are the only major league professional sports team in Broward County, located not too far from Marjory Stoneman Douglas.

Luongo, who is a father-of-two, spoke for over four minutes, calling for change and praising the efforts and strength of the survivors.

“I just want to start off by saying that I live in Parkland,” Luongo said, his voice growing from shaky to stern.

“I’ve been living there for the past 12 years. My wife was born and raised in that area. My kids go to school in Parkland. When I’m done playing hockey, I want to spend the rest of my life in Parkland. I love that city.

“Last week was Valentine’s Day. I was in Vancouver. Obviously, we all know happened. It was hard for me to be on the West Coast and not be able to get back home and protect my family. No child should have to go through that. It’s terrible. It’s time for us as a community to take action. It’s enough. Enough is enough. We got to take action.

“To the families of the victims, our hearts are broken for you guys. There’s not much to say. It’s heartbreaking. You guys are in our thoughts. We’ve been thinking about you every day constantly for the last week. Just to know that we’re there for you if you guys need anything. You’ll be in our prayers. Let’s try and move on together. Last, just two more things.

“Just to the teachers of the school, you guys are heroes protecting your children. Some of them didn’t make it, trying to protect children. That is truly what a hero is. Those people need to be put on a pedestal for the rest of their lives.

“The last thing I want to say is since last Wednesday, I’ve been watching the news and I’ve been seeing what the kids from Stoneman Douglas have been doing. I am very, very proud of you guys. You guys are brave. You guys are an inspiration to all of us. At the end of the day, you guys are what’s giving us hope for the future.

“Thank you.”

Furthermore, in addition to Luongo’s emotional pregame speech, the Panthers removed all of the advertisements around the rink, replacing them with the term “MSD Strong”. On their jerseys, the team had “MSD” patches sewn onto the sleeves and wore Marjory Stoneman Douglas hats on the ice during pregame warmups.

It’s no secret that the latest release from Marvel Studios, Black Panther, is a rousing success. It has already made over $500 million at the box office, and it’s been out for less than a week. Telling the story of T’Challa, the king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda as well as the superhero Black Panther, it is a cultural phenomenon that is being well received by fans and critics alike.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar produced and curated the movie’s accompanying soundtrack as well as appearing on the majority of its tracks. Now it seems that creating the music wasn’t enough for King Kendrick. In an interview with Radio BBC 1, Lamar was asked about the possibility of appearing the movie’s sequel in a cameo. “Come on, I got to now,” Lamar said. He also stated that he wants to play a character similar to Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger. “A villain, but loved and misunderstood,” Lamar explained. He would undoubtedly have a monumental task ahead of him, as Jordan’s performance has been highlighted as one of the best parts of the movie.

It would be hard to deny Lamar at least a cameo in the inevitable sequel given how well the soundtrack is doing on the charts–it currently sits at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Speaking about the soundtrack and the movie, Lamar said:

“I think [the movie is] something that not only stands within this moment, but stands within time. These words, these ideas, these albums, they just come from a single thought. This thought can be made in my bedroom, on the toilet, anywhere I’m driving, and then next thing I know, six months later, they can be all around the world and people are sharing the same thought in that same moment. That’s the greatest part.”

It’s clear that Kendrick believes in the potential of the Black Panther franchise and knows its importance in the cultural discussion. Let’s just say that if Kendrick wants in, then we say let him in and have him play a kick-ass villain. Something tells us he’d fit right in in Wakanda.

On February 22nd, former NFL offensive lineman Johnathan Martin posted a rather disturbing picture to his Instagram story. The picture showed an image of a shotgun and shotgun ammunition strewn out with a message saying “When you’re a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge.”

His former teammates, Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey, were both tagged in the post. He also included the hashtags “#HarvardWestlake” and “#MiamiDolphins.”

Martin was famously the subject of a 2013 scandal in which several Dolphins players, including Incognito and Pouncey, were found to have bullied Martin mercilessly. The coaches also asked Incognito to “toughen up” Martin and Incognito took that as an invitation taunt and emotionally torture Martin endlessly. It was also reported that Incognito had left Martin a highly graphic voicemail, calling him a racial slur, threatening to harm Martin’s mother, and even issuing a death threat. Martin sat out the remainder of the 2013 season, and Incognito was suspended, and after sitting out the entire 2014 season, Incognito eventually signed with the Buffalo Bills in 2015. Martin retired in 2015, citing injury concerns.

It appears that Martin may be mentally unwell as it seems like this picture could be construed as a threat against Incognito and Pouncey, as well as his former high school, the Harvard Westlake School in Los Angeles.

Harvard Westlake shut down for the day on Friday due to the possible security threat. The school released this statement in response:

“Last evening, we learned of an Internet post that mentions Harvard-Westlake by name. Out of an abundance of caution, and because the safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our top priority, we made the decision to close school today. We are working closely with law enforcement and will share more information when we are able.”

It remains to be seen what, if any, sort of action will be taken against Martin but it is clear he is unwell. Given the heightened tensions surrounding guns in the wake of the high school shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, some sort of response by police would seem likely.

UPDATE: Per KABC in Los Angeles, Martin was taken into custody by police in response to the post.

Montgomery County Regional Jail

Cherish Rednour, a 41-year-old middle school teacher in Kentucky, was arrested and charged for allegedly crushing a pill into a line and snorting the powder all in front of her students. Rednour is a teacher at Menifee County Elementary/Middle School in Frenchburg, Kentucky.

Rednour was arrested by police on Thursday, February 23, after she crushed up and pill with a credit card and snorted it in front of her eighth-grade students. After snorting the pill, Rednour reportedly struggled to remain awake.

Students told officials they saw Cherish Rednour, 41, crush a pill with a credit card and make a line with the crushed pill. Then they watched her snort the pill, whereafter she slumped over the desk and had a hard time staying awake.

Rednour was called to the office where she was confronted by the principal and sheriff”s department about the allegations. She was subjected to several Field Sobriety Tests, and was arrested shortly after. Sheriff’s officials proceeded to check inside her classroom, where they found a white residue on her desk and a credit card with residue.

When a deputy searched her at the sheriff’s office, they found a tampon applicator in her bra that “resembled a very small, cut straw,” according to the arrest citation.

Rednour, who was in her first year teaching at the school, is suspended pending further investigation.

She was charged with public intoxication controlled substances, first-degree possession of controlled substance, and drug paraphernalia buy/possess and is being held at the Montgomery County Regional Jail.

Paterno, HBO’s new film which tells the story of the Penn State sex abuse scandal, has its first full trailer. The movie, starring Al Pacino as former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, is bound to cause a stir when it is released on April 7th.

The Penn State sex abuse scandal broke in 2011 when it was publicly revealed that former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky had been molesting young boys for many years using his charity the Second Mile, which was dedicated to helping disenfranchised youth, to groom his victims.

HBO described the plot in a statement:

“The film centers on Joe Paterno, who, after becoming the winningest coach in college football history, is embroiled in Penn State’s Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal, challenging his legacy and forcing him to face questions of institutional failure regarding the victims.”

Amidst the fallout from the scandal and the subsequent revelations that Paterno knew of the allegations against Sandusky and made little to no effort to protect Sandusky’s victims from further abuse, Paterno was forced to resign in December 2011. He passed away from lung cancer less than two months later.

Sandusky was convicted on 45 of the 48 charges that had been leveled against him and received a sentenced to thirty to sixty years in prison and was declared a sexually violent predator.

Flamin’ Hot Cheetos are truly unlike any snack we’ve ever seen, as it’s risen from lowkey stoner food to something that restaurants have created entire menus around.

While I personally have actually never tried Flamin’ hot Cheetos, I have a roommate (and dozens of other friends) who swear by them as their munchie snack of choice. And it seems as though my baked friends aren’t the only ones who love this disturbingly red snack, because apparently, Hollywood does do.

Fox Searchlight studios have acquired the rights to the film “Flamin’ Hot”, which will tell the true story of Richard Montanez, a former janitor who created Flamin’ Hot Cheetos in his kitchen.

Fox Searchlight nabbed the project in what was a highly competitive sale, with multiple studios vying for the project.

The film follows Montanez, the son of an immigrant, who grew up as a migrant farm worker picking grapes in the fields of Southern California before becoming a janitor at Frito-Lay. It was while working at the company that Montanez came up with the idea to create Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, transforming the Frito-Lay brand into a pop culture phenomenon and disrupting the entire food industry in the process. Now commonly referred to as the Godfather of Multicultural Marketing, it was that initial idea that would spark a billion-dollar brand and catapult him from janitor to elite corporate executive.

Franklin will produce the project through his Franklin Entertainment shingle. Lewis Colick will pen the script from the initial pitch, which he and Franklin developed with Montanez. Samuel Rodriguez will executive produce. Anikah McLaren and Taylor Friedman will oversee for the studio.

According to Eater, Montanez was inspired when a machine breakdown in the Frito-Lay plant caused a batch of Cheetos to go un-powdered. Montanez then took the rejected puffed-corn items home and made them into his own version of elotes, a popular Mexican street food.

There is no word yet on who is directing or who will star as Richard Montanez.

Actress Emma Chambers, best known for her work in The Vicar of Dibley, has passed away at the age of 53, as confirmed by her agency.

What happened?

Stating that she would be “greatly missed,” the agency released the following statement, according to the BBC:

“Emma created a wealth of characters and an immense body of work. She brought laughter and joy to many.”

Chambers was best known role of Alice Tinker in the BBC comedy The Vicar of Dibley and Honey Thacker in the film Notting Hill. She was also known for playing Charity Pecksniff in a television adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel Martin Chuzzlewit; her first filmed acting role was in a BBC adaptation of the 1915 D. H. Lawrence novel, The Rainbow. In 1998, she won the British Comedy Award for best actress for her performance as Alice Tinker.

She also had worked as a voice actress, appearing in an animated television adaptation of The Wind in the Willows in 1995 and the 2003 television series, Little Robots. She was also known for appearing in various stage productions and plays.

Chambers is survived by her husband, fellow actor Ian Dunn, whom she had married in 1991.

Many people, both fans and contemporaries, have offered their condolences to Chambers on social media. As seen below, British broadcaster and cultural commentator, Emma Freud, wrote the following message:

“Our beautiful friend Emma Chambers has died at the age of 53. We’re very very sad. She was a great, great comedy performer, and a truly fine actress. And a tender, sweet, funny, unusual, loving human being.”

What was Emma Chambers’ official cause of death?

According to BBC, the agency confirmed that Chambers had died of “natural causes.” As mentioned above, she was 53 years old at the time of her passing and is believed to be survived by her husband. Her official date of death was Wednesday, February 21, 2018, although news of her death was not made public until the following Saturday.

What happened?

According to HuffPost, a member of the actress’ family confirmed her passing. It was noted that she was in Dubai for a wedding, where she suffered a cardiac arrest.

Sridevi got her start as an actress as a child star in Tamil. She later made her Bollywood debut in the 1975 film, Julie. Initially going back to Tamil and Telugu films, becoming a notable leading actress, appearing in films like Meendum Kokila (1981), Premabhishekam (1981), Moondram Pirai (1982) and Aakhari Poratam (1988). She later became a lead actress in Bollywood films, such as Nagina (1986), Mr. India (1987), ChaalBaaz (1989), Lamhe (1991), Khuda Gawah (1992), Gumrah (1993), Laadla (1994) and Judaai (1997).

ChaalBaaz, a remake of a popular 70’s film, Seeta Aur Geeta, an adaptation of The Prince and the Pauper, notably saw Sridevi play a dual role: an abused heiress and her long-lost sister, who rescues her from their evil uncle. In Mr. India, she especially gained prominence for a scene where she imitated Charlie Chaplin.

In later years, she found work in television. In 2012, she returned to the film industry in the piece, English Vinglish. The following year, she had been awarded the Padma Shri award, the fourth highest civilian honor. In 2017, she appeared in the thriller, Mom, which would end up her final film appearance.

Many celebrities have offered their condolences on social media, such as Priyanka Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra.

Sridevi is believed to be survived by husband Boney Kapoor and daughters, Khushi and Janhavi Kapoor. She was in Dubai when she endured her cardiac arrest attack. She had been in the area for a family wedding. NDTV confirmed that the wedding was for her nephew, identified as Mohit Marwah.

Two twin brothers, Clifford and Clinton Pappadakis, lost their California jobs after being busted on child pornography charges just a week apart in two different cases. Police are still investigating but no evidence suggests the two cases were related.

What happened?

Both men, who were 47 years of age, were arrested in the span of seven days on suspicion of possessing child pornography. Authorities have also confirmed that the two cases in which the brothers were involved were unrelated.

Clinton, who taught at the South San Jose high school, was arrested by police, but Clifford turning himself into police on Valentine’s Day. According to Mercury News, both brothers were under suspicion since last year.

Scott Young, a rival coach at Santa Teresa High School, made the following statement:

“This is not something I thought was a possibility…It’s just sad and disheartening.”

According to Fox News, East Side Union superintendent Chris Funk has also issued the following statement:

“We are disappointed to learn of these allegations as we expect our employees to be professional and ethical in their interactions with students, other employees, and the community.”

So far, there is no evidence to suggest that the arrest of one brother caused the investigation of another brother. However, a police report claimed several parents at Willow Glen Middle School suggested that Clifford Pappadakis’ twin brother, Clinton, could be connected to the case. However, the police report confirmed there is no evidence the two cases were connected.

Who were Clifford & Clinton Pappadakis?

Both brothers were coaches. One twin coached track at Oak Grove High School and the other coached cross-country at Willow Glen Middle School, with both schools reportedly across town from each other.

Clinton has been charged with suspicion of possession of child pornography. Clifford has been charged with possessing child pornography and multiple counts of annoying or molesting a child, connected to allegations he took photos of female students’ private areas.

Concord police in North Carolina were given reports of shots being fired inside Concord Mills mall Saturday evening, which caused a mall lockdown. According to one witness report, 300 people could be seen running inside the mall.

What happened?

The lockdown was lifted around 7:30 PM. Police later found no evidence that shots were fired and they did not find anyone with a gun or anyone with any injuries. The Concord police department released the following statement on social media:

“Concord Police is currently at Concord Mills after receiving reports of gunfire inside the mall. No shots have been fired, no one has been located with a gun, no one located with any type of injury.”

They later released the following update:

“Concord Mills Mall remains open for business. No injuries related to false reports of gunfire.”

According to The Charlotte Observer, during the lockdown, some shoppers were locked in stores while authorities investigated the scene. The evacuation of people inside the mall was also believed to have backed up traffic in the area.

Police, as well as KP, were seen in large numbers inside the mall. Fire officials were stationed alongside with officers.

What were witnesses saying?

According to WSOCTV, Cameron Carter, a mall employee, gave the following eyewitness account:

“I work at the kiosk closest to the food court and I saw 300 to 400 people running towards me…So at that point I just knew everybody needed to run.”

Kristy Presnell, a shopper who had been at the mall with her two small children, adding that she would be willing to take a bullet for them, made the following statement:

“Everybody was running, crying. There was people dragging their children, people were tipping and falling…I was trying to keep my kids on the opposite side of me where if there was any bullets coming I was going to make sure they would get me, not them.”

A year later, she won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress, for her lead role in the film, Moondram Pirai, about a woman suffering from amnesia. The 1992 film Kshana Kshanam earned Sridevi the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Telugu) as well as Andhra’s Nandi Award for Best Actress.

In 1997, Sridevi decided to walk away from the limelight of Bollywood films. She wouldn’t appear in another movie until 2012. While on hiatus from acting, Sridevi made her debut as a fashion model in 2008. She has modeled clothes for designers such as Priya and Chintan at the Lakme Fashion Week. She’s also appeared on the cover of Marie Claire, L’Officiel, and Vogue.

In 2012, Sridevi was also voted the most-admired Bollywood actress according to a mobile survey managed by Vuclip. In 2015, she had a starring in the fantasy action-adventure film Puli.

Do you like Girl Scout cookies but want to save your money for your daily coffee boost? Does it pain you in the long hours of the night why there isn’t some sort of Girl Scout cookie-flavored coffee? Well, your prayers have been answered, as Dunkin’ Donuts has unveiled three new coffee flavors inspired by the popular cookies!

What flavors will there be?

The three new flavors are Thin Mint, Coconut Caramel and Peanut Butter Cookie. The three flavors will come in hot or iced coffee, lattes, macchiatos, frozen coffees and frozen chocolate. Thanks to that last one, even children will get to enjoy the new flavors. It would be kind of weird if Girl Scouts were not allowed to enjoy what they peddle. Unless, of course, you let your kids drink coffee. Who am I to judge?

All three flavors will be available Monday, February 26. Reflecting a bigger partnership with the Girl Scouts, local troops will be invited to see their cookies are stores throughout the country, on weekends from February 24th through March 18th.

What is the company saying?

According to a Dunkin’ Donuts press release, the announcement was made during a Facebook Live event, made from Savannah, Georgia, said to be “the birthplace of Girl Scouts of the USA.”

Claiming that the promotion was inspired in part by National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend, which falls between February 23 and 25 in 2018, the company praised the Girl Scouts in the following message:

“Girl Scouts have been selling cookies for more than a century, unlocking their G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) potential by building essential entrepreneurial and business skills imperative to leadership and future success. Over one million Girl Scouts participate in the cookie program each year, and 100% of the net revenue from cookie sales benefits the girls and their local council.”

“Councils depend on cookie earnings to run their programming, which supports incredible experiences for girls, and girls decide how to invest their troop’s portion of the earnings in impactful community projects and personal enrichment opportunities.”

Maya Moar, a 26-year-old au pair from Holon, Israel, was killed in Montclair, New Jersey, where she was working for a local family, after she had been struck by a Decamp bus while exiting a vehicle, being pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement officials had later confirmed that the bus did not stop.

What happened?

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert Laurino and Montclair Police Chief Todd Conforti identified the victim as Moar. Based on preliminary investigation, it is currently believed that Moar was struck by a DeCamp bus at around 6 PM. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene at 6:48 PM on Saturday evening.

As stated above, Moar was 26 years old at the time of her passing and was an Israeli citizen, living in New Jersey as an au pair for a Montclair family.

Decamp is a private bus company headquartered in the Montclair area; as of yet, the company has not issued a statement over the incident. According to police, the bus did not stop; since the incident, other witnesses have claimed buses ignoring stop signs at intersections have been an ongoing issue in the area.

What have witnesses been saying about the incident?

According to North Jersey, Ben Moor, a local who witnessed police and ambulances to come upon the scene, gave the following statement:

“It’s a pretty dangerous intersection. I think there have been accidents there before.”

Another local, Carletta Goldston, added:

“I have lived here about 25 years, and the stop sign, no one ever stops for that stop sign.”

“[A friends] gets off the bus there, and it’s dangerous for somebody when they get to the island and they cross the street.”

“Some people stop. Most people don’t.”

What happens now?

According to North Jersey, local police are looking more people with information to contact them:
