Kickoff Show: Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable vs. The Hype Bros
Seriously, Shelton Benjamin should really be in a high profile feud by now. But I guess WWE are going back to Shelton’s tag team days to test out the waters again with this multi-time champion. Hopefully, Gable-Benjamin materializes into something great. But Benjamin is better off on his own, feuding with someone the caliber of AJ Styles.
Gable and Benjamin kicked some serious ass. The Hype Bros were no pushovers, but the better team won. Gable got the pinfall.

Hell in a Cell for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The New Day (c) vs. The Usos
What a hell of an opening match (no pun intended). The New Day have elevated the tag team division to glorious heights not seen since the days of the Attitude Era. They’ve become major stars and have lifted up the entire division in the process.
The cell really brought out The New Day’s ruthless side. Xavier Woods brought out brightly colored musical instruments (trombones to be exact) and a multi-colored kendo stick and bashed them over the head of an unfortunate Uso. But The Usos showed their mean streak as well, ramming Woods head into the steel with an running Usos butt (yep, just like their dad, Rikishi).
There were plenty of near falls for both teams. But in the end, The Usos showed that they wanted that title that much more, knocking off The New Day to become 5-time champions.
The New Day just passed the torch to The Usos tonight. We now have a new main event tag team in the WWE, and they’re coming from The Uso Penitentiary.

Randy Orton vs. Rusev
Rusev really dominated, but Orton is here to stay and slay the bigger man. Seriously, what is WWE’s plan with Rusev anyway?
The big bad Rusev kicked ass for much of the match, but all it takes is one RKO outta nowhere to finish the job on the Bulgarian Brute. Seriously, where does Rusev go from here? Every high profile feud he’s been in, he’s ended up on the short side of the stick.
Yet, despite that Rusev has lost every major feud he’s been in, I can still see him as the WWE Champion one day down the line.
Randy Orton defeats Rusev
Triple Threat Match for the WWE United States Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Tye Dillinger vs. Baron Corbin
Tye Dillinger was thrown in this match at last minute. AJ probably regrets that move, as he wasn’t pinned tonight, but still lost his championship. Meanwhile, Corbin is steadily rising through the ranks after his Money In The Bank aspirations failed.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship match: Natalya (c) vs. Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair made Natalya snap. Nattie’s been jealous of The Queen’s star power ever since she arrived on SmackDown, and probably got herself DQed out of fear of losing her strap. Either that, or she just has a mean streak that’s too hard to control.

WWE World Championship match: Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
After weeks of derogatory insults, Nakamura finally got his hand on the brash WWE Champion. Well, more than his hands. Nakamura almost knocked Mahal’s head off with a Kinshasa running knee. But The Singh Brother provided too much of a distraction. Mahal was clearly beaten in the ring, but his boys helped distracted the referee long enough for him to recover.
Nakamura still seemed like he was going to win. But one Khallas from the champion is enough to seal the deal on the King of Strong Style.

Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler wants to be recognized as the best wrestler in the WWE. Meanwhile, there’s all these new guys coming in and stealing his spot while he’s been working his ass off for years. Ziggler entered this match as serious as hell, with no entrance music and a stern look.
Ziggler did all he could to put away the tough Bobby Roode. He tried using under-handed tactics, which backfired as Roode beat him as his own game. Both men were rolling each other up in multiple close fall pins. Ziggler grabbed Roode’s tights for leverage while in a pinning position. Roode reversed the pin, and grabbed Ziggler’s tights for the win.
After the match, Dolph Ziggler went ape-sh*t on Roode, beating him down into the mat. Who’s glorious now?

WWE Hell in a Cell match: Kevin Owens vs. Shane McMahon

Here is the best match of the night. Shane McMahon is largely seen as a non-wrestler, yet he performs amazingly well in big match situations, especially in gimmick matches like Hell in a Cell.
Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon fought both inside and outside the cell. The last minutes of the match had the most drama. Shane and Owens were high above the cell battling it out. There was a real chance that both men could become legitimately hurt, even die in the process of entertaining the crowd. Both warriors slammed each other down on top of the cell. KO wanted to escape and climbed down the cell, but Shane O’Mac went down after him.
Shane battles KO on the cell, and knocks him off, sending him flying through an announcer’s table.
McMahon wants to finish off Owens. So, he props KO on another commentator’s table and climbs back on top of the seal. Shane leaps off the cell and attempts an elbow drop on a prone KO, but Sami Zayn runs in, and saves Owens just in the nick of time. KO is pulled out of the way, and Shane bounces off the table and hits the ground while EMTs and WWE officials check to see if the boss’ son is okay.
EMTs are about to prop Shane up on a stretcher, but Sami Zayn won’t allow that to happen. Zayn pushes away medical assistance and pulls KO on top of Shane. Although reluctant, a referee counts the pin-fall – 1, 2, 3.
