The 32-year-old woman who was killed in Charlottesville, Virginia, while protesting white nationalists and Nazis has been identified as Heather Heyer.

Heyer, a native of Greene County, graduated from William Monroe High School and was currently working as a paralegal. According to Heyer’s LinkedIn profile, she worked for Miller Law Group PC in Virginia as a legal assistant.

Her fervor for helping the disenfranchised spurred the young Heyer to walk the streets of Charlottesville, protesting white nationalists who seek to protect the status of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. “We were just marching around, spreading love — and then the accident happened,” a friend, Marissa Blair, said. “In a split second you see a car, and you see bodies flying. Heather was such a sweet soul, and she did not deserve to die. ”

According to authorities, Heyer was killed instantly by a car who drove plowed through a crowd of protesters.

“She always had a very strong sense of right and wrong, she always, even as a child, was very caught up in what she believed to be fair,” Susan Bro, Heyer’s mother, said. “Somehow I almost feel that this is what she was born to be, is a focal point for change. I’m proud that what she was doing was peaceful, she wasn’t there fighting with people.”

She recalled that her daughter was charitable and reached out to the underprivileged. Bro said Heather used to invite friends who were “having a hard time” to stay with them, sometimes for months. Anyone who needed help received it from Heather, Bro said.

About Heather Heyer

Heyer has been known in the Charlottesville community for speaking out against inequality and urging co-workers to do the same. “Heather was a very strong woman,” said Alfred A. Wilson, manager of the bankruptcy division at the Miller Law Group in Charlottesville, where Ms. Heyer worked as a paralegal. She stood up against “any type of discrimination,” he said. “That’s just how she’s always been.”

Mr. Wilson would offend find Heyer crying at her computer, as the injustices of the world moved her to tears. “Heather being Heather has seen something on Facebook or read something in the news and realized someone has been mistreated and gets upset.”

Heather was hired by Mr. Wilson as a paralegal, despite having only a high school diploma with experience as a bar tender and waitress. He said she had a good eye and was a “people person.”

“If you can get people to open up to you, that’s what I need,” he told her. “I’ll teach you everything about the law you need to know.”

Mr. Wilson also appreciated that Heyer left her a former boyfriend who profiled/judged him for being a successful black man.  “She just didn’t like the way he was judging me as a minority male that’s doing well for myself,”

Heather Heyer’s last Facebook reads, “If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention.”

A Go Fund Me page has been set up in honor of Heyer. She has raised over $223,000 so far as of Sunday evening.

Game Of Thrones continues to steamroll through its seventh season (literally, as characters seem to be teleporting all over the realm), dropping plot reveals and battle scenes all over fans week in and week out. While this week’s episode, “Eastwatch”, did not have the epic battle scene that last week’s episode did, it was chalk full of information and lore, including another hint at one of the show’s most popular theories.

During last season’s finale, Bran Stark (now the Three-Eyed Raven) discovered the truth about his brother Jon’s true parentage in a flashback. In Bran’s vision, he learned that Jon is not the son of Ned Stark and some whore, but the son of Lyanna Stark and Prince Rhaegar Targaryen, confirming one of the biggest theories about ‘A Song of Ice and Fire.’

In the vision, Ned Stark — Jon’s uncle — traveled to the Tower of Joy in Dorne to rescue his “kidnapped” sister Lyanna. However, after defeating Ser Arthur Dayne and making his way to the Tower, Ned found his sister Lyanna dying in childbirth. It was at this point she made him promise to keep her infant son, Jon, safe from Robert Baratheon. As we all know now, Ned raised Jon as his own despite the shame it brought him and his family.

Now, in last night’s episode, not only did Thrones remind us that Jon is actually a Targaryen, but that he seems to have the same ‘powers’ as them as well:

And not only did last night’s episode hint at Jon’s true lineage through a friendly dragon, but through the text of a long forgotten book at the Citadel as well.

Though Samwell tries to impress upon his superiors that the warning they’ve received from Winterfell about the white walkers is very correct, they’re loathe to listen to him, leading to Samwell venting his frustrations to Gilly. Towards the end of the episode when Samwell’s considering whether to leave the Citadel, we see that Gilly’s taken a shine to reading through the vast collection of books at her disposal. While making her way through a book detailing things about High Septon Maynard, Gilly asks Samwell what an annulment is after reading the word in a sentence:

“Maynard says here that he issued an annulment for a Prince Rhaegar and remarried him to someone else at the same time in a secret ceremony in Dorne.”

Neither Gilly nor Samwell realize the gravity of that sentence and their conversation quickly moves on, but we, the audience have way more information than they do.

So, there you have if folks: it is now officially not if Jon will ride a dragon, but when?

Given the era that we currently reside in where the quarterback is the most essential position in football, it stands to reason that any player that can catch a pass should be worth keeping an eye on. While wide receivers get the majority of the glory as being the quarterbacks best friends, the emergence of pass catching tight ends has allowed the majority of the NFL’s signal callers to become more dynamic passers. This years tight end class is top heavy with the likes of Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce as being the most prominent names on a variety of fantasy rankings. However, there are several intriguing under the radar tight ends that could be poised to make an immense splash on your fantasy team this season. Specifically, the New York Giants rookie tight end Evan Engram could quickly become a viable fantasy prospect assuming his coveted skill set pans out in the NFL.

Unlike most tight ends that are currently in the pros, Engram brings a unique combination of speed (4.42 40-yard dash at combine, fastest amongst tight ends) and sheer athleticism. While Engram is a below average blocker at best, he more than makes up for it with his savvy pass-catching abilities, which will be vital for a Giants team that targeted tight ends 19% of the time in 2016. Simply put, Engram will have a prominent place in the Giants offense and will easily be the best tight-end on the 53-man roster come week 1 of the regular season.

Attempting to discern where Engram fits on your fantasy roster is truly a unique endeavor that will require some serious thought if he ends up on your squad. Is he a true TE2 or a unofficial WR3 that could be utilized as a flex player to maximize your line-up with offensive assets(this assumes that your league allows for a flex position)? Gauging the value of Engram is no easy feat, but if he can fulfill his unique potential, he could be a massive steal on draft day and provide an extra boast to your point total on game day, especially in PPR leagues (points per reception).

While Engram had a quiet day in the Giants preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers(one reception for 11 yards on two targets), his effectiveness will become more realized with each exhibition game, particularly as he gets more time with Eli Manning during live-game situations. Although it’s hard to currently pin point where Engram should go in a typical fantasy draft, right now the rookie tight-end is a solid TE2 that could become a underrated TE1 before the start of the regular season.

The University of Florida football team has suspended seven players for its September 2 season opener against the University of Michigan.

According to ESPN, Florida suspended the seven players for making improper charges on their university student IDs at the school bookstore and then selling those items for cash. One source told ESPN that the cards did not have the proper amount of funds on them to purchase the items.

The suspended players are wide receiver Antonio Callaway, offensive lineman Kadeem Telfort, linebackers James Houston and Ventrell Miller and defensive linemen Jordan Smith, Richerd Desir-Jones and Keivonnis Davis.

“We have a small group of players that have made some choices that are extremely disappointing,” head coach Jim McElwain said in a statement, though he did not elaborate on the reason for their suspension. “Action has been taken — they have missed some practice and will miss the Michigan game. We will use this as a learning opportunity and we will have some players step up as we move forward.”

Players are expected to either return the items or repay the bookstore for the items, but it’s unknown if school officials will take any further action.

Florida, who enters the season as the 16th ranked team in the coaches’ preseason poll, takes on the Michigan Wolverines, ranked 9th, on Saturday, September 2 at 3:30 PM in Arlington, Texas.

A 32-year-old Florida man claiming to be named Alice Wonderland has been arrested after he cost $100,000 in damage to an under construction liquor store.

Florida police have arrested 32-year-old Mathew Horace Jones after he claimed an Alice in Wonderland character forced him to commit a crime at a Florida construction site.

According to Crestview police, Jones broke into a construction site and allegedly used a forklift to damage the building under construction around 9 PM on Saturday, August 12. Horace’s little joy ride cost more than $100,000 in damage to the liquor store under construction at the Crestview Walmart and to construction equipment.

According to police, Jones allegedly broke into the fenced-in construction site on the north side of the Ferdon Boulevard South using a JCB extendable forklift parked at the job site.

The building under construction was destroyed. Additionally, the suspect damaged a city fire hydrant and a 2-inch water meter worth about $3,200.Crestview Police received calls that the suspect was “throwing cinder blocks off the scaffolding in the construction zone.”

According to a building contractor the damage included: $40,000 in scaffolding and materials, $15,000 in block and mortar, a $15,000 forklift, $7,500 mixer, $1,500 mud pans, and $4,000 in damaged fencing.

The suspect, Jones, also caused about $60,000 in labor to clean and rebuild the site. When Crestview Police Officers arrived on scene, Jones aimed the forklift toward officers. The officers stopped Jones at gunpoint and were able to detain him.

While being detained, Jones said that his name was “Alice Wonderland” and that he was told to commit the offenses by a “hookah-smoking caterpillar.”

Jones, who was already on probation, was charged with felony grand theft, use of a motor vehicle to damage property of another in excess of $1,000, criminal mischief with damage greater than $1,000, and violation of felony probation.

Jerry Drake Varnell, an Oklahoma man, was arrested after he attempted to detonate a vehicle bomb parked outside an Oklahoma City bank.

Varnell, of Sayre, Oklahoma was arrested on Saturday, August 12 in Oklahoma City after he attempted to detonate a bomb outside a downtown bank in OKC. According to court documents, Varnell attempted to detonate what he believed was a van loaded with explosives parked in an alley next to BancFirst around 1 AM on Saturday.

The FBI first became aware of Varnell’s plot after an FBI agent posed as a person who could assist him in the plan. Varnell initially claimed he wanted to blow up the Federal Reserve Building in Washington D.C. with a device similar to the one used in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. Varnell said his reason for wanting to bomb the government buildings was because he was “upset with the government”

Furthermore, the Department of Justice reports Varnell continued to advance his plans to build a device, as well as preparing a statement to be posted to social media following the explosion. He then helped load the device into a van that he believed was stolen and drove to BancFirst. Varnell then allegedly dialed a number on his cell phone that he believed would trigger the explosion. The FBI also reports that that monitored Varnell closely during the month’long plot and that the device he loaded into the vehicle was inert.

According to the complaint, over the course of a months-long undercover investigation by the FBI, Varnell made repeated statements about the extent of his hatred of the federal government.

In one conversation he said he believed in the “Three Percenter” ideology — a form of anti-government activism that pledges resistance against the United States government on the belief it has infringed on the Constitution, according to court papers. Those who subscribe to the ideology incorrectly believe that only 3 percent of the colonial population participated in the American Revolution, and they see themselves as their heirs.

According to the complaint, Varnell expressed a desire to blow up buildings, but in a way that would minimize deaths or casualties, possibly by detonating the device at night when offices would be mostly empty. Authorities said Varnell attempted to detonate the fake bomb at 6:30 p.m. Friday. He was taken into custody shortly after midnight, according to the complaint.

Varnell, who was charged with attempting to use explosives to destroy a building in interstate commerce, is expected to appear in court today. The FBI is expected to announce his arrest later Monday.

The Nature Boy’s success carried into WWE and WCW. He became a 2-time WWE World Champion and headlined the 1992 WrestleMania against “Macho Man” Randy Savage. In WCW, Flair’s career was even brighter, as he took home a total of six WCW World Heavyweight Championship reigns.

2000-2005

In WCW, Flair had legendary feuds with Sting, the New World Order, “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Curt “Mr. Perfect” Hennig, Hulk Hogan, and more. By the turn of the century, Flair was feuding with his son and still winning championships. In 2000, Flair won his last 2 world titles. On March 26, 2001, Flair wrestled Sting for WCW Nitro‘s very last match.

In November 2001, Flair moved onto the WWE. He made his Monday Night Raw debut surprisingly Vince McMahon and the WWE audience. Flair said that he bought half of the company, and this storyline would develop into the first WWE Brand Extension where Flair became the general manager of Raw.

Flair’s next major storyline was when he formed a partnership with “The Game” Triple H. Flair and Triple H were soon joined by Randy Orton and Batista, and together they became Evolution. This group wrecked havoc on Monday Nights. Flair stayed in this group until 2005 when he was left battered and bloody by his protégé Triple H.

2005-Present

Flair captured the WWE Intercontinental and Tag Team Championships during his final years with the WWE. However, Flair’s career began to die-down as he was featured less-prominently in storylines. In 2007, Flair told the audience that the next match he loses he’ll retire. At WrestleMania 24 (2008), Flair wrestled his very last match in the WWE against “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels. Ric Flair is the only person to become a 2-time WWE Hall of Famer. In 2008, he was inducted for his individual career and, then in 2012, the entire Four Horseman became inducted to the WWE Hall of Fame.

Despite that Ric Flair lost his retirement match against HBK, he returned to the ring, but not for WWE. In 2010, Flair signed onto Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). While signed with the Nashville-based company, Ric had bloody matches against his former foes Hulk Hogan and Mick Foley. Flair also became the manager of his own faction known as Fortune, alongside Beer Money Inc (Bobby Roode & James Storm), Frankie Kazarian, and “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles.

In 2012, Flair returned to the WWE. He never wrestled again, but he did act as manager for The Miz and his daughter Charlotte Flair. After seeing a similarly-aged colleague Jerry “The King” Lawler suffer a heart attack on WWE television, Flair decided to hang up his boots for good.

Ric Flair is an iconic force in the business of professional wrestling. Many fans, wrestlers and critics consider The Nature Boy to be one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. Hopefully, he can recover from his serious heart issues. If not, heaven will never be the same. WOOOOOOOO!

This Super Mario Odyssey direct will definitely show off new gameplay featuring everyone’s favorite Italian plumber, Mario and his new friend (that allows him to possess enemies) Cappy! Featured on the stream will be executive producer of the game, Yoshiaki Koizumi.

I know everybody has reached that point in the semester where you no longer have it in you to do things the old fashioned way. You take out your phone, point it right at the lecture notes and take that pic. You save time and risk of an arthritic future. Whether you actually study the information or not isn’t the focus here, it is that you value the course material enough to use up storage space on your phone, so be proud of the sacrifices you’ve made…….. Now go back and read that with the sarcastic overtones I intended. Or did I intend that it be some larger-than-life inspirational monologue? You decide it’s out of my hands now.

Don’t interrupt me while I’m wondering who the first pervert was to go ahead and milk a cow. It’s sick when you think about it, but I’ll be damned if he didn’t change the game.

Tiffany Thompson got Ezekiel Elliott in a heap of hot water with the NFL as a result of the assault allegations. There may not be enough evidence for Elliott to be arrested, but apparently photos of Thompson’s bruises are enough for Elliott to get suspended by NFL for violating their personal conduct policy. On Friday, August 11, 2017, the NFL made the decision to suspend the Dallas Cowboys running back. Elliott will be forced to sit out of the first six games of the season. Meanwhile, Thompson alleges that he assaulted her on five different occasions during their relationship.

In July 2016, right when rumors began emerging that Elliott was going to leave his girlfriend, Thompson took to Instagram and posted photos of bruises allegedly made by her boyfriend. Thompson made a police report in the early morning hours of July 22, 2016, in Ohio. She claimed that Elliott attacked her while she was in the driver’s seat. However, the football star wasn’t arrested because of conflicting reports from witnesses, one of which had been in the car at the time of the alleged assault.

Elliott and Thompson met while in Ohio State University. Thompson formerly worked as a “doll” in the Columbus Sway night club (closed down in 2016). She was born in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, but now lives in Pickerington, the town where she graduated high school. According to Thompson’s Facebook, she’s currently listed as single.

Ezekiel Elliot denies all assault allegations made by Tiffany Thompson. He claims that Thompson’s injuries were a result of a bar fight that she was involved in. Elliot told TMZ,  “I can assure you [the allegations] are not true.”

Dallas Morning News’ Cowboys beat writer Clarence Hill tweeted, “Per a source, Elliott broke off the relationship and alleged victim said she would ruin him if he did. Thus the accusations.” Meanwhile, WFAA’s Mike Leslie tweeted, “”messages saved on (Elliott’s) phone proving his ex-girlfriend is trying to set him up.”

Here’s how Thompson responded to the controversy. She tweeted the words, “Y’all don’t gotta worry about me I’m just fine sitting here with you guys laughing.”

On July 22, 2017, Thompson posted photos on Instagram of bruises on her arms and neck. She accused Elliot of physically assaulting her, causing multiple marks on her body. Thompson wrote, “Just for every woman out there getting abused it’s time to put a stop to it. This has been happening to me for months and it finally got out of control to where I was picked up and thrown across the room by my arms.Thrown into walls. Being choked to where I have to gasp for breath. Bruised everywhere, mentally and physically abused. It’s not okay. So I want each and every one of you girls to step away now from domestic violence. You’re worth so much more. I got told it was called “tough love” I’m sorry if you love someone you don’t touch your loved ones.”

Thompson  followed up that message with a hashtag. She wrote, “#Stopdomesticviolence.”

If you’re a gamer, odds are you’ve come across the voice work of Troy Baker. He’s done everything from starring roles to nameless sideline characters. Some of his more notable characters are Joel in Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic adventure game, The Last of Us, and Booker Dewitt in Irrational Games’ whacky first-person shooter BioShock Infinite. But let’s not forget Troy Baker’s awesome role as “Velociraptor Handler” in Lego Jurassic World.

It’s only recent that we’re recognizing video game celebrities as legit, and it’s about damn time. Troy Baker’s work has graced so many familiar titles; he’s even contributed his likeness to the lead role in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, co-starring with renowned badass Kevin Spacey.

So how much is this voicework professional worth?

Troy Baker’s Net Worth as of 2017: $6 Million

Troy Baker’s current net worth is at $6 million. It’s a high number, for sure, but it’s interesting to compare it with, say, prominent film celebs, whose net worths can be more than five times this amount. Video games are a multi-billion dollar industry, and while we’re better appreciating these voice actors, who do at times contribute more than just their voices thanks to motion-capture tech, there’s a staggering difference between this industry and other entertainment mediums.

Still, Troy Baker is the man. Let’s look at some of his accomplishments.

The 1990s – Early 2000s

Troy Baker’s career as a voice actor actually started with anime. In his early work he contributed to Dragon Ball Z shorts, played Shunjun in Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files, among others, and in the early 2000s he voiced some of his more well-known characters like Damon in Detective Conan and Kato in Baki the Grappler and Grappler Baki kyokudai taikai. He also appeared in One Piece, Moon Phase, Gunslinger Girl and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Late 2000s – Present

It wasn’t until around 2007 when Troy Baker began consistently appearing in video games. He has worked in most genres, from Japanese role-playing games like Tales of Vesperia, to adventure games like the Batman: Arkham series. In fact, he has voiced a number of characters in the Batman universe across several video game and TV iterations. He was Batman once, the Joker another time, Robin, Two-Face, The Atom — you get the point.

But he’s mostly known for his aforementioned work with Naughty Dog. Aside from Joel, Troy Baker also played Samuel Drake in Uncharted 4, the studio’s fourth installment in its most successful series that serves as a flagship of the PlayStation brand. Sam is the older brother to Nathan Drake, the game’s protagonist — voiced by all-star Nolan North.

More recently, he’s Batman yet again in Telltale Games’ episodic series, and you can catch him in the (hopefully) near future once more as Joel in The Last of Us II, which is currently in development.

The father of a White Nationalist has publicly disavowed his son due to his participation in the Charlotteville rally.

Pearce Tefft, a Fargo, North Dakota resident publicly disowned his son Peterm a prominent white nationalist who was present in Charlottesville.

In an op-ed piece for Inforum, Tefft disavowed his son saying that he and his family did not raise Peter to be a racist.

My name is Pearce Tefft, and I am writing to all, with regards to my youngest son, Peter Tefft, an avowed white nationalist who has been featured in a number of local news stories over the last several months.

On Friday night, my son traveled to Charlottesville, Va., and was interviewed by a national news outlet while marching with reported white nationalists, who allegedly went on to kill a person.

I, along with all of his siblings and his entire family, wish to loudly repudiate my son’s vile, hateful and racist rhetoric and actions. We do not know specifically where he learned these beliefs. He did not learn them at home.

I have shared my home and hearth with friends and acquaintances of every race, gender and creed. I have taught all of my children that all men and women are created equal. That we must love each other all the same.

Evidently Peter has chosen to unlearn these lessons, much to my and his family’s heartbreak and distress. We have been silent up until now, but now we see that this was a mistake. It was the silence of good people that allowed the Nazis to flourish the first time around, and it is the silence of good people that is allowing them to flourish now.

Peter Tefft, my son, is not welcome at our family gatherings any longer. I pray my prodigal son will renounce his hateful beliefs and return home. Then and only then will I lay out the feast.

His hateful opinions are bringing hateful rhetoric to his siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as his parents. Why must we be guilty by association? Again, none of his beliefs were learned at home. We do not, never have, and never will, accept his twisted worldview.

He once joked, “The thing about us fascists is, it’s not that we don’t believe in freedom of speech. You can say whatever you want. We’ll just throw you in an oven.”

Peter, you will have to shovel our bodies into the oven, too. Please son, renounce the hate, accept and love all.

According to The Hill, Tefft identified himself as a “pro-white activist” earlier this month. Furthermore, Tefft said he shied away from being identified as a Nazi or a Nazi sympathizer because of the negative connotations associated with the word.

“My contention is that most of what constitutes hate speech affects pro-white speech,” Peter Tefft said in the interview. “Anti hate speech is synonymous with anti-white and anti-America.”

Similarly, Tefft’s cousin Jacob Scott criticized Tefft, calling him a manic and saying that he has threatened their family:

“Peter is a maniac, who has turned away from all of us and gone down some insane internet rabbit-hole, and turned into a crazy nazi,” Scott told Inforum. “He scares us all, we don’t feel safe around him, and we don’t know how he came to be this way.”

A car smashed into a pizzeria east of Paris, France, killing one and injuring several people. This crash is alleged to be intentional. One 13-year-old girl died as a result of the incident and seven people are injured, according to the French Interior Ministry. According to RTL radio and a source from prosecutor’s office in nearby Meaux, the suspect had suicidal tendencies.

A 39-year-old man allegedly drove a dark-colored BMW through the front of a pizzeria in Seine-et-Marne on Monday evening. The BMW mowed down people inside the restaurant. One person has died as a result of the incident. Seven are injured, while four people are in critical condition.

A spokeswoman for the Paris Prosecutor said that there aren’t any indications that this attack may be terror related. However, terrorism has not been ruled out.

Pierre-Henry Brandet told BFM TV: “I cannot tell you that terrorism has been discounted, but it is not the leading line of inquiry at this point. The first indications don’t point towards terrorism.”

One local officer declined to comment. But another said, “It can not be an accident because there are no traces of braking.”

The driver allegedly attempted backing up out of the restaurant after the crash, but was stopped, according to one witness. “A car drove into the terrace and crashed into the bar. The driver tried to reverse but someone stopped them. The gendarmes arrived quickly. There were around 20 people in the restaurant.””

The suspect allegedly had suicidal tendencies. According to RTL radio, the man had called police in the past, informing officers that he wanted to kill himself and had weapons in his vehicle. A source from the prosecutor’s office in nearby Meaux told Le Parisien newspaper that “He tried to kill himself yesterday and decided to try again like this today.”

The pizzeria is about a thirty-minute drive from Central Paris.

Many went on Twitter to express their grief over the incident. One person tweeted: “My condolences to the family and the victim of the attack on the car in the Marne-Seine in a restaurant #SeineEtMarne #septsorts.”
