Trevor Noah, the 31-year-old South African comedian whom made his first appearance on The Daily Show back in December, is officially taking over the popular late night gig in place of Jon Stewart.

Comedy Central confirmed Noah’s new hosting spot this morning. Jon Stewart’s departure was a surprise, despite his reign starting in 1999.
A start-date has yet to be announced.
