We have to give Jimmy Fallon credit for making his “Thank You Notes” segment a big thing on The Tonight Show. We’re not going to stay home on a Friday night just to watch the bit, which began back in his Late Night days. We’re just saying that “Thank You Notes” is the first Tonight Show segment since Johnny Carson’s days to become a regular thing that people look forward to every week.
And we don’t have to stay home because Jimmy’s thoughtful notes of appreciation are quickly preserved for prosperity. Last night included Jimmy saying “thank you” to Pope Francis, people who have garage sales, and Get Hard–which looks set to have a really good weekend at the box office. We’re not sure what kind of audience the movie will pick up from Jimmy’s thoughtful “thank you,” but it was a good way for The Tonight Show to wrap up the week…
