The 7 Music Festivals You Should Be Going To This Year

For many of us, the thought of wearing flip-flops again, being tan, and going to see our favorite artists in concert is what’s getting us through this seemingly eternal winter. Check out our picks for the must-see music festivals this season.

Shaky Knees, May 8-10

Who? This festival boasts a long list of alternative bands like: the Strokes, the Avett Brothers, Wilco, TV on the Radio, Tame Impala, Ride, and James Blake.

Where? Atlanta, Georgia

How much? Tickets are selling out fast, so you’l need to act quickly. Those that are still available include: Single Day Tickets $99, Three-Day Advance $199, VIP Single Day $299, and VIP Three-Day $599. Get them here.

Hangout, May 15th-17th

Who? This beachfront event includes powerhouse artists such as: Sam Smith, Foo Fighters, Zach Brown Band, Paramore, Beck, Major Lazer, Foster the People, and Tove Lo.

Where? Gulf Shores, Alabama

How much? Prices for the three-day event range from $249.00 to $1649.00 as well as an additional fee of $31.50-$69.35. Get them here.

CounterPoint, May 22nd-24th

Who? The newest festival of them all debuted in 2012 and is one of the few this year where Zedd will perform. Other artists include: Widespread Panic and the Roots.

Where? Kingston Downs, Georgia

How much? This camping-optional festival is one of the most affordable- $175 for three days. Still too pricey for you? You can sign up for their payment plan. Get them here.

Boston Calling, May 22nd-24th

Who? Unfortunately you won’t be able to clone yourself and attend both this festival and CounterPoint. You’ll just have to decide which lineup you would rather see more: Tenacious D and Beck are just a couple of the 23 performers. Most festivals include 100+, but this is a more intimate affair.

Where? In case you haven’t already guessed, it takes place in Boston, Massachusetts.

How much? Tickets are comparable to CounterPoint with a three-day pass also being $175. Other options are available here.

Bonnaroo, June 11th-13th

Who? Arguably one of the most well-known festivals, Bonnaroo, boasts the likes of Robert Plant, Billy Joel, Mumford and Sons, Deadmau5, Kendrick Lamar, Florence and the Machine, Robert Plant, and Earth Wind and Fire.

Where? Manchester, Tennessee

How much? General admission tickets begin at $299.50 before other fees. Ticket fees are $32.75 per ticket, which includes a $6.00 facility fee, $3.00 contribution to Coffee County, $2.00 donation to the Bonnaroo Works Fund, and other fees. They also have payment plans available. Get them here.

Firefly, June 18th-21st

Who? Paul McCartney, Kings of Leon, The Killers, Kid Cudi, Snoop Dog, Citizen Cope, Steve Aoki, Hozier, Zedd, Foster the People, Tove Lo, Chiddy Bang, and Echosmith are just some of the many heavy hitters playing at this festival.

Where? Dover, Delaware

How much? A general admission 4-day pass is $299. Get them here.

Lollapalooza, July 31st-August 2nd

Who? We’re praying to the music festival gods that the leaked line-up circulating the Internet turns out to be for real- especially because it includes Kanye West and Rihanna. We’re also hoping that music festival gods exist.

Where? Chicago, Illinois

How much? Tickets go on sale tomorrow, 3/24 at 10 am CT, so make sure to head to the website before the early bird specials are gone.
