Thousands of geese fell from the sky in Salmon, Idaho yesterday in what may be the most terrifying type of rainstorm ever. Is the world ending? Should we take shelter underground? Should we really push that Mars exploration thing up a few years?!?
Fear not, looks like science can explain this one. While migrating to nesting ground on the northern coast of Alaska, roughly 2,000 geese dropped dead due to avian cholera, a disease which poses minimal risk to humans. Their carcasses will be burned so other scavengers won’t contract the illness.
We were really sold on that whole impending apocalypse thing for a second.
