Despite an apparent murder confession on last night’s The Jinx finale, as well as incriminating evidence dug up by docuseries filmmakers, the LAPD is denying that Robert Durst’s arrest had anything to do with the popular HBO series.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Deputy Chief Kirk Albanese explains, “We based our actions … on the investigation and the evidence… We didn’t base anything we did on the HBO series. The arrest was made as a result of the investigative efforts and at a time that we believe it was needed.”
While we’re sure good policing was the main component, we find it incredibly hard to believe that the docuseries had nothing to do with the overall arrest.
