Taking a road trip across the Unites States is something everyone should do before they die, but the idea of going is much more appealing than the actual work behind it. Luckily Randy Olson, PhD candidate in Michigan State University, is here to help with that.
Using the Google Maps API and a self-made Python Script, Olson crafted the perfect route. Below is the result, which consists of stopping at at least one landmark per state (National Natural Landmarks, National Historic Sites, National Parks, or National Monuments):
The complete trip is only 13,699 miles, and would take roughly 9 days (and 224 hours) without traffic.
