San Andreas Trailer Video

Yeah, we’re starting to see a lot more movies for guys coming up here now, which makes us really happy. We’ve already taken a look at Eli Roth’s Clown (although we were expecting his slasher film Thanksgiving first), along with the Kurt Cobain documentary Montage of Heck. But this week also promised some amazing action on both the big and small screens–including Dwayne Johnson singlehandedly stopping an earthquake. Let’s get wound up for the movies…

San Andreas

Yeah, it’s an old-fashioned disaster movie that’s full of so much mayhem that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson doesn’t even have to take up most of the trailer. This one’s looking like a lot of fun, plus you get the shaking and quaking bod of Alexandra Daddario. Also, we like how this movie seems set to prove that The Rock can take a boat right over a tidal wave, unlike that wimpy George Clooney in The Perfect Storm

Tomorrowland

Speaking of George Clooney–he’s playing a former child genius in Tomorrowland. Also, we’re not ingenious enough to keep track of what’s going on with the Tomorrowland trailers. We though there was a Japanese trailer that leaked this week with lots of new imagery, but this one also seems to have all kinds of cool new imagery, even though the plot is still being kept vague…

Skin Trade

Dolph Lundgren plays a cop from New Jersey who teams up with international action star Tony Jaa, plus Michael Jai White as some kind of Fed, and the bad guy is Ron Perlman–so that’s pretty much a low-budget Expendables right there. We know that most of the country will be getting this via VOD, but we’re really hoping it plays Times Square. And, yeah, the trailer’s been out for a while, but we’re finally getting a release date…

Inside Out

It’s a kiddie film, but it’s a Pixar kiddie film, and we’re excited about any movie that gets people talking about Herman’s Head–which is the really cool old sitcom that this movie is kind of emulating, but that’s okay…

Roar (1981)

No, it’s not a new Katy Perry documentary. Roar is a real Holy Grail to fans of bad movies, with former movie star Tippi Hedren having once decided to make an environmental horror movie about lions going mad and slaughtering people. That was easy for Tippi to make, since she ran a big cat refuge. Roar became legendary, though, because the cast members (including Tippi and her daughter Melanie Griffith) kept getting mauled. The movie sat unfinished, but now it’s getting a release. We wish the trailer was more vintage, though. Also injured, by the way: cameraman Jan de Bont, who got his skull cracked open, but he still went on to direct Speed and sleep with one of our girlfriends…
