Sam Simon, co-creator of comedic sitcom The Simpsons, has died. He was 59.
Simon passed away after a long battle with colon cancer on Sunday at his home in Los Angeles. He was diagnosed in 2012 and made public for the that his disease was terminal shortly after. Despite the severity, Simon managed more than two years with the disease, and continued to offer his philanthropic hand anyway he could.
Sveeral colleagues have paid their respects, including Hank Azaria, who plays multiple characters on The Simpsons. Azaria tweeted earlier, “Rest in peace and thank you for The Simpsons, Sam Simon.”
Thank you, indeed.
