Avengers Age of Ultron 3 Trailer

It’s time to round up the hottest trailers of the week–and, yeah, we know that we’ve already written up the new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, but we wanted to revisit it for a very good reason. Also, we’ve covered the complete Furious 7 airplane stunt, but this week still had plenty of new weird trailers from a weird mix of stars. Start catching up as Hollywood gets ready to trot out the hot (or bizarre) properties as we get past the slow start of the year…

Avengers: Age of Ultron (again)

There’s some cool new stuff here, like busy Ultron nanobots and floating Ultron–but we really like the scene that you’re seeing in the pic above, with Thor giving the ultimate “Ultron, WTF?” look. He’s, like, all, “Ultron! WTF!” Thor isn’t even posing it as a question. Also, we like the guy standing behind him, who most likely is thinking, “Man, I’m not getting paid enough to stand around in this suit while Robert Downey, Jr. is kicking back in his trailer.” Anyway, watch it again…

No Escape

A lot of people are going to be pissed off at this movie because it takes an important topic like international turmoil and uses it as an excuse to knock out a version of The Purge, with Owen Wilson having to get his family out of his happy foreign residence that becomes a hellhole after a coup of some kind. We’re pretty sure that Pierce Brosnan plays a retired expatriate who’ll turn out to really be with the CIA. Can you name the movie where Jonathan Winters had the same role? Probably not…

The Forger

We’d say that this is John Travolta heading into further weird Nic Cage territory, but he’s actually kind of dull in this trailer for yet another heist film about a guy being called out for one last job where there’s a young felon and a wise mentor. You can’t ignore Travolta after that Oscars weirdness, though…

Dark Places

Charlize Theron stars in this adaptation of a novel by the gal who wrote Gone Girl, and it sure snuck up on us. This doesn’t exactly look like the softcore erotic thriller that we’ve been wanting from Charlize, but it looks like she’s having a good genre year between this and Mad Max: Fury Road. Also, this is an international trailer, so you get classy subtitles…

Self/Less

The latest movie from director Tarsem Singh looks to be an unofficial remake of a really cool film from 1966 called Seconds. Sadly, this film doesn’t even seem to any of the overblown imagery that usually makes Singh worth watching even when he’s ultimately churning out crap like The Cell. Instead, it’s just Ryan Reynolds becoming a new body for aging businessman Ben Kingsley, with maybe elements of that bad Robocop remake tossed into the script. You don’t even get the self-referential weirdness of a leading man like Rock Hudson in Seconds. Everybody knows Ryan Reynolds is heterosexual. He keeps marrying our girlfriends…
