Last night’s special Academy Awards edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live! wasn’t anything too special. There wasn’t any way that it could be as painful as the actual Oscars broadcast, but things were a little underwhelming–except for when Jimmy dragged out a Special Oscars Edition of his Lie Witness News bit.
That’s when the show finds people who feel obliged to give an opinion whenever a mic is shoved in their face, even though they’re clearly bluffing as the Kimmel crew asks them about fictional events. Probably the most satisfying one was the Coachella Festival sketch, where hipsters didn’t want to admit that they’d never heard of certain fictional bands. It’s pretty fun to listen to people fake some film talk, though.
Especially when they look like the lady above, too. In fact, the biggest buzz this day after the Oscars is…well, Lady Gaga, for some reason, but we’re pretty sure that a lot of people are really excited over this amazing talent that Jimmy Kimmel found last night. It’s an entertaining bit, but we’ll understand if you just keep watching the first interview over and over again.
Also, we think this blonde is making a pretty good point about how Birdman would’ve been a better film if, in fact, Helen Mirren had played Cate Blanchett playing Judi Dench as Larry Bird in Birdman. We’ve had the exact same thoughts about the idea, and we’d be happy to get together with this gal and talk about other cinematic deep thoughts. Somebody have her contact us via COED…
