Fifty Shades of Grey is still running rampant in the movie theaters, and Kingsmen is kind of fun–but we’re still grateful to have a busy week of new trailers promising us that a lot more fun mayhem is coming to the multiplexes. This week’s cavalcade of trailers includes international takes on Mad Max: Fury Road and Furious 7, and one direct-to-video epic that would be a major summer release in a better world. Take a look at a week back of solid action movie trailers. You won’t have to wait until summer for some of them…
Mad Max: Fury Road (International Trailer)
We know that there’s already been some awe-inspiring trailers for this Mad Max reboot, but the international trailer has to cram in even more action to impress the Asian audiences–and all good geeks know that mayhem looks better when you have Asian subtitles. We’re also seeing more of the brides of Fury Road here, with Charlize Theron and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, yeah…
Run All Night
Hey, it’s aging Liam Neeson being all badass again. The box-office for Taken 3 says that you still like that kind of thing, and so do we. Pound of Flesh
There’s an alternate world where Jean Claude Van Damme stars in Run All Night and Liam Neeson goes direct-to-video in this tale of a guy who wakes up with a missing kidney and kicks ass to get it back. It’s not just that Van Damme’s character is pissed off to find himself living an urban legend. He’s also already promised a kidney to his very sick niece. Don’t bring up Crank: High Voltage, either. That was about a guy missing his heart, so it’s completely different…
Furious 7 (International Trailer)
You don’t get Asian subtitles here, but this international take on Furious 7 has a little more action than the Super Bowl spot. Just don’t go asking if there’s anybody walking around on the ground beneath that skyscraper at the end of this trailer…
Hot Pursuit (1985)
And let’s not neglect even more gals of action, with Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon hitting the road as, respectively, a convict and a police officer on the run from bad guys. It’s looking better than we’d expect in an ’80s-throwback kind of way…
