David Letterman brought out the kid scientists on last night’s episode of The Late Show, and this is the year where we have to start worrying that we’re watching David Letterman do the last version of every one of his classic bits. We guess that it’s not likely that The Late Show is wrapping up the Kid Scientists segment this early before Dave’s retirement–but this would not be a bad one to go out on.
That’s because there was more mayhem than usual, with a Kid Scientist named Kate Burritt showing up to demonstrate what happens when gunpowder is lit by flame. We already had a pretty good idea, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the CBS lawyers actually insisted that Dave light the gunpowder.
We also like the two other Kid Scientists hiding in the back behind the couch. It’s funny, but we also wouldn’t be surprised if the kids didn’t come up with that idea instead of the writers. Kid scientists are usually smarter than comedy writers. Anyway, check it out, and see why it’ll be fun to pay a little more attention to Letterman this year…
