america's most dangerous colleges

We now know the 25 most dangerous college campuses, thanks to a study from StartClass. Being from the Northeast, I always imagined that Trinity (located in the heart of Hartford, CT) would be high on this list but that’s not the case. In fact, I think you’ll be surprised to see big names like Wake Forest and Dartmouth mucking it up with the likes of Grambling State. [lead image via Getty Staff/ Scott Olson]

Of course, with any study or reports it’s important to know where the numbers come from. The statistics themselves represent violent and non-violent crimes reported to campus security and local law enforcement officials in 2012-2013. Those numbers were then put up against the overall size of the school, giving us a list of the most dangerous colleges relative to their student population.
