There has been plenty of pressure on New York Knicks owner James Dolan over the last 36 hours to sell the team after he sent an angry email to a fan where Dolan called the fan an alcoholic and said he should cheer for the Brooklyn Nets. It has inspired two fans to start Knicks4Sale.com which is a detailed website that calls for Dolan to the sell the team.
The campaign is looking to raise $20,000 in donations so they can put up a billboard near Madison Square Garden. This is a worst-case scenario for Dolan and the Knicks. The entire NBA community is going to be in New York this coming weekend with the All-Star Game being held on Sunday night. Dolan can’t have everyone coming to town and having everyone talking up Dolan about the email and now the website.
The Knicks re-signed Carmelo Anthony to a max contract over the summer and hired Phil Jackson to rebuild the franchise. Everything has gone wrong for the Knicks though this season and they are well on their way to a top-five lottery pick in the draft along with having $30 million to spend in free agency. Maybe a complete rebuild with that draft pick and the money turns things around but for right now, Dolan is on the hot seat from the fans in the Big Apple.
