Brian Williams just benched himself from NBC News, with an announcement on the NBC News website declaring that he’s “too much a part of the news,” due to his recently getting caught making up a story about being under enemy fire in Iraq in 20013.
That has also inspired media critics to look at more weird Williams moments, like when he claimed to see a dead body floating down (the never actually flooded) French Quarter in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. Now we’re getting coverage like with today’s New York Post–as seen above.
Read between the lines, and this message reads more like Brian Williams is giving Lester Holt some time to audition for the NBC News’ anchorman position while the disgraced newsman sees if this new scandal will blow over.
