One of the biggest reasons why more fans don’t go to NFL stadiums in this day and age would be the fact that the at-home experience is more enjoyable with big screen TVs and recliners. The Miami Dolphins are going to challenge the idea that watching at home is a better idea. It is also going to make changes to Sun Life Stadium in the process.
The team is knocking out seats at the 30-yard line in the lower bowl on the south side of the stadium and adding 32 “living rooms”. The rooms will be complete with a 30-inch recliner and iPad with the option of a 32-inch TV for $15,000 more or four 24-inch TVs for $30,000 more. The cost of the package will begin at $75,000 which will include access to a lounge area with food and drinks. The seats will also come with access to a VIP lane which will allow for getting into and out of the stadium faster.
It is a novel idea and especially in sunny South Florida. There will be plenty of people who will gather three of their friends and has each of them chip in $20,000 each so they can have a full door of luxury at the stadium. There will be others who think that spending the $75,000 elsewhere so they can have the same fun for an entire season will be a better idea though. It will be worth seeing who ends up in the seats.
