Two years ago, one of the biggest stories around the NFL was of then-New York Jets coach Rex Ryan revealing a picture of him and his wife with a Jets No. 6 of Mark Sanchez tattooed onto his right arm. A lot has changed over that time and with Ryan now the coach of the Buffalo Bills, he decided during Super Bowl week to change the green in the jersey to Bills blue.
Ryan told the Wall Street Journal that “you’ve got to turn the page.” It cost just $80 and Ryan also said that he has given away all of his Jets apparel and keepsakes to make sure that is in his past. This is probably the best move that Ryan could make at the end of the day. He needed to move on and become a Buffalo Bill fully and this move does that.
The jersey of a Bills No. 6 now gives Ryan a tattoo of Colton Schmidt, who is a second-year punter out of UC-Davis. Schmidt is probably very honored to be the one on Ryan’s arm at this point. There are times in life where changes have to be made. Ryan saw that and is now ready to take on the Buffalo job with full force and a fully-fixed tattoo to go with it.
