NFL 9-27-06: Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks fans are known to be very loud, making CenturyLink Field one of the best homefield advantages. In all seriousness, they have started small earthquakes in the past. Sunday’s NFC Championship Game gave the fans another chance to tip the Richter scale. After earthquake experts analyzed the data from the game, it was determined that the biggest event was when the Seahawks took the lead on a touchdown and 2-point conversion late in regulation. The “dance quake” was the biggest seismic signal from a Seahawks game and was even bigger than the 2011 event that followed a Marshawn Lynch touchdown run in the playoffs. It is clear that the fans love making noise and moving around violently when the Seahawks do something right. One of these days though, the fans may go too far and cause an actual big earthquake with all the earth shaking they do.

It is something fun for fans and earthquake experts in the Pacific Northwest to look at until something much bigger comes along. It is unfortunate that the Super Bowl can’t be played in Seattle or the seismic signals that would go off if the Seahawks won may be off the scales. The “12th” man now has something to strive for next season to make an even bigger event happen.
