The Chicago Bulls had been hoping that the return of Derrick Rose this season would lead them to a possible NBA Finals appearance. Chicago started well but in recent weeks, things have gone south for the team and after losing the sixth time in eight games, Rose had seen enough. Rose went off about how the whole Bulls have been playing. “Everybody has to be on the same page. Until then, we’re going to continue to get our ass kicked.”
The Bulls are still in first place in the Central Division with a 27-16 record even with their recent skid but are sitting as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Cleveland Cavaliers, who beat the Bulls on Monday night, have been hovering around the No. 6 seed so those teams would end up playing each other in the first round if the season ended today. Rose and the Bulls don’t want that to happen.
There have been injuries that have slowed the Bulls down recently but Rose has finally decided to step up and be a vocal leader. He is going to need to continue acting like that if he wants Chicago to pick up and end up in the Eastern Conference Finals this season or even have a chance at a championship. This may be a big turning point for Rose’s career.
