It only makes sense that The University of Denver’s law school would offer the first ever marijuana law class. Titled, “Representing The Marijuana Client” the class is taught by Professor Sam Kamin aimed at teaching new lawyers the in’s and out’s of the problems that marijuana users, growers, and sellers face every day.
“Topics covered will include regulatory compliance, criminal defense, contract, banking, tax, real estate, and multidisciplinary practice. These speakers will present the students with practical problems and hypotheticals which will generate multiple opportunities for assessment.”
One student who made it into the highly-competitive class posted his textbooks on /r/Trees today with photos of his textbooks and I’ve reached out to him about some more questions.
The class is scheduled to begin on Friday and we’ll hopefully have some more updates in the near future… Like whether or not the textbook makes good rolling papers or not.
