You might have heard the story of the San Diego State University fraternity, Delta Sigma Phi, that was put on suspension for allegedly waving sex toys at sexual assault protestors.
TheCollegeFix is now reporting via a Delta Sigma Phi brother, 22-year-old Brenden Boesgaard, that the whole thing was just a classic misunderstanding and got blown way out of proportion.
First of all, Boesgaard openly admits that there was a phallic-shaped sex toy that was being waved. But just one. And that it wasn’t “a bunch of brothers” doing it, it was one brother and his friend from out of town. These two claim that in the dark they heard a large group of people (the protestors) screaming “F*ck frats” and “Don’t F*ck with us.” The two boys were simply swinging the fake penis in a “move along” motion. Since it was dark out, Boesgaard claims that they had no idea the protest was against sexual assault until the very end. Only at that point the brother realized his mistake.
Now all 107 brothers have been left without a fraternity for a year and a half. Boesgaard claims (rightfully so) that it’s unfair to punish all these students because he believes the protestors intentionally skewed the story to punish the brothers.
