The University of Virginia’s Phi Kappa Psi fraternity chapter has been reinstated by UVA officials after Charlottesville PD could not corroborate the rape allegation originally discussed in the now-infamous Rolling Stone article. The investigation is still continuing.
While Phi Kappa Psi originally suspended itself after Rolling Stone published the article, reinstatement required University officials to give it the green light–which it did.
“We welcome Phi Kappa Psi, and we look forward to working with all fraternities and sororities in enhancing and promoting a safe environment for all,” said Teresa A. Sullivan, University of Virginia president.
Phi Kappa Psi and the rest of UVA’s fraternities will have to follow a new set of rules regarding fraternity parties they host.
