The world’s best technology and gadgets are currently on display at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. And while we’re trapped here on the East Coast that doesn’t mean that we don’t know what we want when we see it.
We picked out our five favorite gadgets from CES to show you, we’ve included pricing and availability when possible. Drones, smart-speakers, tablets, and chargers–we’ve got them all.
Zano Drone
Price: $215 | Availability: 2015
The Zano Drone is probably the coolest selfie machine that could ever be invented. It’s a palm-sized drone that followers users around and can capture HD footage or photos. Perfect for bringing with you on a ski run or whatever action sports you get up to on the weekends.
Sony Walkman NW-ZX2
Price: $1200 | Availability: Unknown
Sony brought back the Walkman last year for the price of $300, so why is this dedicated music player so much more expensive? It has nothing to do with the sleek look, instead it boasts 128GB onboard storage, a microSD slot, and a touchscreen display.
It runs on Android Jellybean (an admittedly older android OS) but does support filetypes such as DSD, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Apple Lossless, and more. If you’re a audiophile with deep pockets, this is what you want to carry around.
Kube
Price: $1,099 | Availability: Summer 2015
Kube is a portable speaker and cooler that can play music at 100 decibels and hold enough drinks for you to think that’s not loud.
Sure, it’s price makes it well out of our range (we’re still big fans of our Corona cooler) but the fact remains that this is the ultimate pool party, boat party accessory. It holds 33-quarts (which can fit about 48 cans) and weighs in at only 20 pounds.
Samsung Galaxy TabPro
Price: $400-$600 | Availability: March 2015
We’re big fans of Samsung’s line of tablets, so it should come as no surprise that we’re really excited about the idea of a TabPro.
The TabPro introduces a new operating system known as MagazineUX which turns things into a more Windows 8-type feel. So while users might initially miss the old way of navigating around, it’s a safe bet that you’ll quickly learn how to get around the TabPro.
As far as specs are concerned here’s what we know:
• 12.2-inch version includes 3GB of RAM.
• The 10.1-inch and 8.4-inch include only 2GB of RAM.
• Each will feature a micro USB port for charging, a microSD expansion port, IR blaster, and come in both 32GB and 64GB configurations.
D-Link DIR-510L Personal Router And Charger
Price: $119 | Availability: February 2015
The D-Link DIR-510L might have a name you’ll forget quickly, but boats two incredibly awesome features that ensure you won’t be forgetting it at home. The idea is simple, have the ability to create a wireless network wherever you go while also be able to keep your mobile devices charged.
