It took pretty much all of December, but things are beginning to take off for Chemical Ali–whose “People of the Gas Station” work is the best reality television we’ve seen in ages. Too bad that it has to be pieced together as Vine videos. We still love this guy, who’s reportedly the son of a Detroit convenience store owner, and therefore can risk his job by harassing the customers who visit his store.
Take a look at some brilliance that’s too good for Bravo. It’s almost 45 minutes of brilliance. Maybe we could see less of the times that Chemical Ali tricks somebody into thinking there’s a spider on his shoulder, and a few of the moments are swiped from other Vines. You still have at least a solid half-hour of weird moments from a Detroit convenience store, with the local addled shoppers getting insulted and giving back as good as they get. This is one brave man. We’re sure not brave enough to ever work in this place. NSFW for language, of course…
